Be sure and check out the early NHL Predictions for today, too.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">NHL Predictions<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Toronto Maple Leafs vs Vancouver Canucks<\/span><\/h3>\n<h4><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Head-to-Head: Leafs 3-3 Canucks<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Welcome to tonight&#8217;s featured game, which should be an epic battle in the North Division. The\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Toronto Maple Leafs<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0dropped their last outing against<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0Vancouver Canucks<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a02-3 to split the series. This will be the second consecutive contest between the two teams leaving two games remaining versus each other. Currently, the Maple Leafs are riding a four-game losing streak hoping to snap the skid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Maple Leafs lead the North division with 61 points and only four points ahead of their next opponent, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/jets\/\" target=\"_self\">Winnipeg Jets<\/a>. Toronto ranks seventh in the NHL with 146 goals scored and 11th with allowing 120 goals.\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/matthau01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Auston Matthews<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0leads the league and his team with 33 goals making the star forward the front runner for the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/richama01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Maurice Richard<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Trophy. Matthews also leads his team with 54 points. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/marnemi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mitch Marner<\/a> leads Toronto with 40 assists and has nine helpers over his last 10 games.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Vancouver seemed to surprise quite a few fans after their recent victory versus Toronto. If the team can string some wins together, things will get interesting in the North division. The Canucks are seventh in their division, sitting 10 points out of a playoff spot. Vancouver has five games in hand on the Montreal Canadiens and seven games in favour of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/flames\/\" target=\"_self\">Calgary Flames<\/a>. So there is still hope! <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/horvabo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bo Horvat<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/boesebr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Brock Boeser<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0lead their team with 16 goals and, Boeser leads with 34 points. Horvat has been racking the points as he scored five goals and registered six helpers over his last 10 games.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Prediction: Toronto Wins: 5-2<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Anaheim Ducks vs Los Angeles Kings<\/span><\/h3>\n<h4><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Head-to-Head: Ducks 2-1 Kings<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Both the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/?s=Anaheim+Ducks\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Anaheim Ducks<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/?s=Los+Angeles+Kings\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Los Angeles Kings<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0have dropped their recent two games. A note to add about the team&#8217;s losses is that all four games were against <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/vegas-golden-knights\/\" target=\"_self\">Vegas Golden Knights<\/a>. Anaheim and Los Angeles seem to be scoring a low volume of goals this season. Each team ranks at the bottom of the West division with goals scored.\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/browndu01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Dustin Brown<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0for the Kings leads both teams with 16 goals on the season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Anaheim goaltender\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=gibsojo02,gibsojo01&amp;search=John+Gibson&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">John Gibson<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0may get the start between the pipes as he has earned 12-6-0 in his career versus the Los Angeles Kings. Gibson versus Los Angeles has a .924 save percentage.\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/peterca01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Calvin Petersen<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0could get the start tonight and, versus Anaheim, he is 0-1-1 in his career. Petersen owns a .881 save percentage against the Ducks.
