The deal is for eight years, and $64 million. It carries an $8 million annual cap hit. Johansen came in midseason and made an immediate impact with 36 points in 42 games. The addition of Johansen helped Nashville get the first wildcard spot and upset the Anaheim Ducks in the first round. Throughout\u00a0the postseason, Johansen didn\u2019t disappoint, scoring four goals and four assists in 14 games. Johansen seemed to fit in well in his new home, and this past season showed more of the same. Johansen played in all 82 games this season for the Predators, accumulating a team-high 60 points, and a team-high 47 assists. Once the postseason started Johansen&#8217;s consistent play continued. He scored 13 points in the 14 games he played before he was injured. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium;\">Johansen was diagnosed with acute compartment syndrome on May 21<\/span><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium;\">on what appeared to be an innocent play. The injury is <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium;\">not believed to be serious, as Johansen had surgery two hours after being diagnosed. Johansen was out for the remainder of the playoffs but is expected to be ready for the start of the 2017-2018 season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium;\">Johansen signed his last, and biggest, deal as\u00a0a part of the Blue Jackets in October of 2014 for $12 million over 3 years. Last season Johansen made $6 million, but his\u00a0cap hit was only $4 million. Johansen has been a mainstay in any offense he has been a part of and shows no signs of slowing down.
