The NHL is usually quick to postpone games if they feel there is a risk for the players and staff. The North Division as a whole has not had as many games postponed or cancelled as the other divisions. This could be because of how Canada as a whole is handling COVID-19, or it could be because the teams are being extra safe. Whatever the reason, this is one of few times a game has not been able to be played on its intended date. A player being added to the Covid list does not mean a positive test. They could have been in contact with someone, and not have it themselves. With this in mind, it is possible we see Armia and Kotkaniemi back in action soon.

[pickup_prop id=”4215″]

Moving Forward

Montreal is five points behind Edmonton, with three fewer games played. They sit in fourth, with the Oilers above them in second. Both teams have been doing well this season: well over a .500 win percentage. Missing out on this one game is not the end of the world for either team. While they are both coming off a win from Saturday, this extra rest time will be beneficial. The Oilers are on a three-game win streak and are looking to continue that against the Canadiens. With the Montreal Canadiens’ game postponed, they will have to hope the virus does not spread within their camp in the next few days.

Main Photo:

Embed from Getty Images

The Montreal Canadiens‘ game has been postponed until a later date.
