We\u2019ll remember the moments that shaped the sport of hockey that happened on this day. Here\u2019s our look at this date in hockey history for February 25th, featuring Cam Neely<\/a>.

Cam Neely Makes Comeback<\/h3>\n

1993:<\/strong> The Boston Bruins forward returns from a knee injury that cost him 106 games. Neely missed the time due to a hit on the knee by Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> defenceman in 1991 Wales Conference Final.<\/p>\n

The Comox, British Columbia native returns and scores a power-play goal 4:51 into the first period. However, the Minnesota North Stars<\/a> forge a 3-3 tie with the Bruins. Neely only plays 162 more games after the knee injury.<\/p>\n

Other Notable Events<\/h3>\n

1930:<\/strong> Boston’s Cooney Weiland<\/a> becoems the first player in franchsie history to score four goals in a 7-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Tiny Thompson<\/a> gets his 15th shutout in the Bruins’ 16th consecutive win at the Boston Garden.<\/span><\/p>\n

1940:<\/strong> The New York Rangers<\/a> and Montreal Canadiens<\/a> play in the first hockey broadcast on American television. New York station W2XBS uses a fixed, one-camera setup seen by 300 receivers. The Rangers beat the Habs, 6-2, en route to the Stanley Cup.<\/p>\n

1945:<\/strong> Montreal’s Maurice Richard<\/a> scores his 45th goal of the season, which is the most in a single season. He tallies in a 5-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a> to break Joe Malone<\/a>‘s record.<\/p>\n

1970:<\/strong> The Bruins break the record for the fastest three goals in a 6-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks<\/a>. John Bucyk, Ed Westfall<\/a> and Ted Green<\/a> all score in a 20 second span as they outshoot the Canucks, 60-34.<\/span><\/p>\n

1978:\u00a0<\/strong>Montreal sees its league-record 28-game unbeaten streak in a 6-3 loss to the Rangers. Hardy Astrom<\/a> makes 29 saves and the Rangers get goals from Phil Esposito<\/a> and Steve Vickers<\/a> in the first period.<\/p>\n

The Buffalo Sabres<\/a> are the third team to score 13 goals in a road game as they rout the Cleveland Barons, 13-3. Danny Gare<\/a> gets three goals and two assists while Jerry Korab<\/a> gets two goals and three assists for Buffalo.<\/p>\n

2004:<\/b> New Jersey Devils<\/a> goalie Martin Brodeur<\/a><\/span> becomes the first goaltender in NHL history to win 30 games in nine consecutive seasons. He helps the Devils top the Sabres, 8-2.<\/p>\n

2019:<\/strong> Florida Panthers<\/a> goalie Roberto Luongo<\/a> moves into third on the all-time wins list with his 485th career victory.<\/p>\n
