We\u2019ll remember the moments that shaped the sport of hockey that happened on this day. Here\u2019s our look at this date in hockey history for February 6th featuring Brett Hull<\/a>.

Today in Hockey History<\/h2>\n

Brett Hull Scores 50th Goal<\/h3>\n

1990:<\/strong> The St. Louis Blues<\/a> forward gets his 50th goal of the season in the third period of a 6-4 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a>. The younger Hull gets his 50th goal of the 1989-90 season when he beats Toronto goalie Jeff Reese<\/a><\/span> low to the stick side on a breakaway.<\/p>\n

Hull joins his father, Bobby Hull<\/a>, as the first father-son duo to get 50 goals in a season. Bobby reached 50 goals five times in his career.<\/p>\n

Other Notable Events<\/h3>\n

1943:<\/strong> Montreal Canadiens<\/a> forward Elmer Lach<\/a> sets a team record six assists in an 8-3 win over the Boston Bruins.<\/a> Five of Lach’s assists come goals by Ray Getliffe<\/a> and Joe Benoit<\/a> also adds four assists.<\/span><\/p>\n

1971:<\/strong> The elder Hull nets his 20th career hat trick in the Chicago Blackhawks<\/a> 6-2 win over the Minnesota North Stars<\/a>. Younger brother Dennis Hull<\/a> adds two goals and an assist.<\/p>\n

The Bruins Phil Esposito<\/a> gets back-t0-back 100-point season. Esposito gets the mark with a goal and two assists in a 4-3 home win over the Buffalo Sabres<\/a>.<\/p>\n

1973:<\/strong> The Blues Connie Madigan<\/a> becomes the oldest rookie in league history when he plays in a 5-1 victory over Vancouver Canucks<\/a>. Madigan has three assists in 20 games before he’s sold back to San Diego of the Western Hockey League.<\/span><\/p>\n

1987:<\/strong> New York Islanders<\/a> forward Mike Bossy<\/a> becomes the first player to score 30 goals in each of his first 10 seasons. He gets the milestone goal in a 3-3 tie with the Edmonton Oilers.<\/a><\/p>\n

1993:<\/strong> Mike Gartner<\/a> powers the Wales Conference with four goals in a 16-6 victory over the Wales Conference in the All-Star Game at Montreal. Gartner gets MVP honours after replacing teammate Mark Messier<\/a> in the lineup.<\/p>\n

2001:<\/strong> Buffalo’s Doug Gilmour<\/a> gets his 900th career assist in a 6-3 win over the New York Rangers<\/a>. He assists on Miroslav Satan<\/a>‘s goal to become the 13th player to get 900 helpers.<\/span><\/p>\n

2018:<\/strong> Boston goalie Tuukka Rask<\/a> makes 26 saves in a 3-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings<\/a>. He helps extend the his streak of at least a point in 21 games (19-0-2).<\/p>\n
