Today we cover the Minnesota Wild comic captions for the 2019-20 season.
Minnesota Wild Comic Captions for 2019-20
Eric Staal
Eric Staal finished third in team scoring this season. His 19 goals and 28 assists shows he’s still relevant on the Wild roster. He’s also still effective on the power play with five goals and nine assists. He collected five game-winning goals. Staal is an accurate shooter coming in with an excellent 16.8 percent success rate.
Over his 16-year NHL career, he has participated in 1,240 games with 436 goals and 585 assists giving him 1,021 points. The phrase “seasoned veteran” defines Staal’s play. The 6′-4″, 207 pound native of Thunder Bay, Ontario signed with the Wild as a free agent in July of 2016 with a three-year deal worth $10.5 million. He is still under contract through next season after inking a two-year deal in February of 2019 for $6.5 million.
Even with his age creeping up on him, Staal has managed to average 0.82 points per game. He can still perform and the Wild may offer him a short-term contract after next season.

Zach Parise
Zach Parise really got locked in when the team awarded him with an astounding 13-year $98 million contract back in July of 2012. What were they thinking? He will be 40-years-old when his deal expires. And, while he has performed reasonably well over his eight years in Minnesota, he is starting to slow down. He will be 36-years-old next month and his point-per-game average dipped from 0.82 last season to 0.67 this campaign.
This season he accumulated 25 goals and 21 assists for 46 points in 69 games. He was effective on the power play gathering 12 tallies and assisting on six others. He is a pretty deadly shooter with a 16.1 percent accuracy rate.
Still, the local guy from Minneapolis, Minnesota has five more years left on his contract with a no movement clause to boot. It seems unreasonable to expect him to play well into his late 30’s, but who knows perhaps he can remain relevant.

Alex Stalock
Alex Stalock burst onto the scene when Devan Dubnyk missed about a month due to some personal issues with his wife’s medical condition. Dubnyk had been struggling and Stalock did a nice job filling in.
He appeared in 38 games with a 20-11-4 record and a .910 save percentage. He also gave up 2.67 goals-per-game and had four shutouts. While he’s not rookie at 32-years-old, he is signed through 2020-21 season at a very reasonable $785,000 AAV. If he can continue his consistent play during the play-in series when the Wild face the Vancouver Canucks, he may replace Dubnyk as the team’s starting goalie.
He certainly has earned a shot at being between the pipes in games that will determine if the Wild will move on in the playoffs. Rookie Kaapo Kahkonen will be attempting to make a place for himself on the roster going forward. This places Dubnyk’s future in question.
