Mitch Marner Injured
Marner went down after a faceoff while stepping on Carsen Twarynski‘s stick in the second period of Saturday nights game. He fell, landing awkwardly on his right leg. Marner couldn’t properly stand up after the incident as he tried to get off the ice. Marner tried to skate later but then left for the game.

So far this season, Mitch Marner has scored 4 goals and 14 assists for 18 points to go along with 4 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 53.7 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of 1.4.
Over his 4-year NHL career, Marner has only played for the Leafs. He has 71 goals and 171 assists for 242 career points in 258 career games. He was originally drafted by the Leafs in the first round, fourth overall in the 2015 NHL draft.
Mike Babcock stated in his post-game interview after a 3-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers that Marner would not travel with the team to Chicago on Sunday.
What This Means for the Future
The Leafs will have to make some major adjustments to the lineup with Marner out four weeks. He is a big part of this team offensively, and it will hurt the team by missing long stretch of time. The Leafs haven’t had a healthy roster yet this season. With Marner out, it will be a little longer to see that from the Leafs.
With Marner out, coach Mike Babcock will have to do some changes to the lineup and have players replace him on the John Tavares line and on the top powerplay unit.
