The Ottawa Senators have acquired veteran forward Tommy Wingels in a trade with the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday. The Sharks receive Buddy Robinson, Zack Stortini and a 2017 seventh round draft pick from Ottawa. The Sharks will also retain 30% of Wingels salary and cap hit. He is in the final year of a three-year deal that pays him $2.475 million this season.

Ottawa Senators Acquire Tommy Wingels from the San Jose Sharks
The 28-year-old Wingels will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. He has played 37 games this year, scoring five goals and three assists for eight points. For his career, he has scored 51 goals and 122 points in 337 games played. Wingels has played his entire career with the Sharks after being a sixth round pick in the 2008 NHL Draft.
Buddy Robinson was a former undrafted college free agent who signed with the Senators in 2013. The 25-year-old had a goal and an assist in three games last season. The winger has played in four NHL games this year, but not scored any points. In 33 games with the Binghamton Senators he has scored seven goals and five assists for 12 points.
Zach Stortini, 31, is a veteran enforcer who has spent the entire season with the Binghamton Senators. He has three points and 20 penalty minutes in 22 AHL games this season. In his NHL career, he has played 257 career games, scoring 14 goals and 27 assists for 41 career points. Stortini was a third round pick of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2003 NHL Draft.
