Rory McIlroy has explained why he avoids looking at leaderboards during closely contested tournaments, saying it helps him stay focused on his own game instead of what everyone else is doing.<\/p>\n
The six-time major champion<\/a> shared his thoughts before his 6:04 p.m. tee time on Saturday at the Genesis Scottish Open after thick fog delayed third-round play at The Renaissance Club<\/a>. The weather disruption forced officials to push several groups into the evening, raising the possibility that the round might not finish until Sunday morning.<\/p>\n McIlroy was among the players affected by the delay.
