Phil Mickelson has denied allegations<\/a> that he showed a nude photo of himself to a woman and was expelled from three private golf clubs because of inappropriate behavior. The six-time major champion strongly rejected the claims after a report published by Skratch alleged that he had acted inappropriately toward women and was forced to leave several exclusive golf clubs.<\/p>\n

In a statement shared with the New York Post through his representatives, Mickelson described the report as unfair and accused golf writer Alan Shipnuck of relying on anonymous sources instead of verified facts. His team called the story an “anonymously sourced drive-by shooting” and said it contained misleading information.<\/p>\n

Ashley Perez’s Allegations<\/h3>\n

One of the most serious claims came from Ashley Perez, the former wife of professional golfer Pat Perez. She alleged that Mickelson showed her an explicit photo of himself and made unwanted advances toward her during an incident in 2015.<\/p>\n

The report also claimed that Mickelson’s departures from The Farms Golf Club, The Madison Club, and The Bridges were connected to similar allegations of personal misconduct. According to the article<\/a>, anonymous sources suggested there was a pattern behind his exits from the clubs.<\/p>\n

Mickelson has firmly denied those accusations. His legal team previously said they had video evidence that disputes claims related to his departure from The Farms Golf Club. His representatives also insisted that he was not forced out of any of the clubs and said the report gave readers the wrong impression about what happened.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Mickelson has never been expelled from a golf club. His membership has never been revoked by a golf club,\u201d Mickelson’s reps told The Post.<\/a> \u201cThose decisions were his alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

His team also criticized the article for mentioning his wife, Amy Mickelson. They argued that she is not a public figure and should not have been included in the story. According to the statement, there was no journalistic reason to bring her into the report or allow anonymous sources to speculate about her marriage and personal life.<\/p>\n

The statement also pointed to Skratch’s connection with the PGA Tour. Mickelson left the PGA Tour in 2022 to join LIV Golf, and while his representatives acknowledged that Skratch can report independently, they argued that readers should be aware of its corporate relationship with the PGA Tour when judging such an investigation.<\/p>\n

“None of those relationships mean Skratch cannot report independently,” the \u2060statement read<\/a>. “They do, however, create a corporate relationship that reasonable readers may consider relevant when evaluating an extensive investigation into Phil Mickelson, one of the most consequential players ever to leave the PGA Tour for LIV Golf.\u201d<\/p>\n

Skratch Defends Its Reporting<\/h3>\n

Skratch, however, has defended its reporting. Editor-in-chief Ben Boskovich said Mickelson and his representatives were contacted before the story was published and were given the chance to respond to the allegations, but they chose not to comment at the time.<\/p>\n

Boskovich also questioned why Mickelson’s team was now responding through the New York Post instead of addressing the claims before publication. He said Skratch stands by its reporting.<\/p>\n
