In what has been a confusing season but in the same token steady, Scottie Scheffler is searching for his second 2026 victory after a win at The American Express tournament. In some recent action the veteran battled it out with Rory McIlroy at the Masters, coming up short in playoff holes for second place. There was a period where he has seemed to have wins at every stop on the T<\/a><\/span>our and now things have died down. With accomplishments all across the board in his career thus far, the World No. 1 is still missing his grand slam. With a\u00a0 chance to do so at the US Open, in a few weeks Scheffler can put another stamp on his legacy.<\/p>\n

Scheffler At The Finish Line\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This 2026 season on tour hasn\u2019t been the ideal situation when thinking of the best in the sport. Although with one win which is more than most, it doesn\u2019t seem to be enough. Having the ability to complete his career grand slam in a few weeks, putting icing on the cake.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I would love to be able to win the US Open. It’s a tournament that I love,\u201d Scheffler said. \u201cI love my country, I would love to be able to win my National Open. And I’ve had some success at that tournament before and I think it suits my style of game. I’m excited to go to Shinnecock this year and hopefully get it done.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting the job done won\u2019t be an easy feat, competing against those like Mcllroy<\/a> who will be hungry. Scheffler recently participated in the Cadillac Championship and performed well to say the least. In round three he found himself in a deep tie for 6th place with a bogey free second round really keeping him afloat entering the weekend play.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like I gave myself more looks today than I had yesterday, especially on the back nine. Keep doing that over the course of the next couple days I think I\u2019ll be in a decent spot,\u201c the world number one said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scottie Searching For Answers<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Searching for his season spurt, Scheffler is one you can never quite count out of any tournament. Finishing for second place in the last three tournaments now, really scratching the surface on grabbing that first place finish.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like I couldn\u2019t really get anything going. I was hitting it decent enough. Just putts were going kind of around the hole. Tough to get a lot of momentum. I hit it pretty nice to start, just didn\u2019t hole the putts I needed to,\u201d he said.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Although he wasn\u2019t able to add another win to his career column, he did hit the mark of $110 million in career earnings with his second place purse of $2.8 million. Now sitting in third place overall in PGA Tour earnings, behind the great Tiger Woods and his current competitor Mcllroy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGo home and get ready for the PGA,\u201d Scheffler said.<\/a> \u201cA lot of positives. Some stuff I can clean up, but overall definitely some positives from the last few weeks.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Scheffler is scheduled next for action in the Truist Championship and the field will be filled with talent as usual.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
