{"id":438118,"date":"2026-04-24T02:53:15","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T02:53:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/?p=438118"},"modified":"2026-04-24T02:53:15","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T02:53:15","slug":"bryson-dechambeau-sticking-with-liv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/bryson-dechambeau-sticking-with-liv\/","title":{"rendered":"Bryson DeChambeau Sticking With LIV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the past week, there have been a lot of questions about what will happen to LIV Golf.\u00a0 With the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/liv-golf-seeing-the-end\/\" target=\"_self\">PIF pulling out of the league,<\/a> it only has funding for the rest of the season.\u00a0 Beyond that, the future of the disruptive league is completely in the air unless it finds some new sponsors.\u00a0 One of the biggest questions is what the players will do now.\u00a0 Bryson DeChambeau has said he is sticking with the league.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bryson DeChambeau\u2019s Contract<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DeChambeau was one of the early members of the league and was given a multi-year contract.\u00a0 With his contract expiring at the end of this season, there has been a lot of speculation as to whether or not he will stay.\u00a0 DeChambeau has stated numerous times that he wants to renew the contract, but he\u2019s just deep in negotiations.\u00a0 LIV Golf also wants to keep him in the league, as he is a very valuable player.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How DeChambeau Sees LIV Golf<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When it comes to LIV Golf, DeChambeau sees a lot of value in the league.\u00a0 According to interviews, it\u2019s why he sticks around.\u00a0 After the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/bryson-dechambeau-blasts-course-conditions\/\" target=\"_self\">Mexico City event<\/a>, DeChambeau was s<a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/flushingitgolf\/status\/2046964184391319801?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2046964184391319801%7Ctwgr%5E8a4706f7e152fe045247f23027816b1f52c5096c%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.golfdigest.com%2Fstory%2Fbryson-dechambeau-comments-on-liv-golf-future-pif-funding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">peaking on Flushing It,<\/a> and he\u2019s approaching the league the way someone would approach a startup.\u00a0 In that, sometimes things get hard on everyone involved.\u00a0 DeChambeau would say the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThere&#8217;s a lot of moving parts, like in any business. It\u2019s a startup, right?\u201d\u00a0 DeChambeau continued.\u00a0 \u201cAnd so there&#8217;s going to be times where we&#8217;re squeezed and punched. This is one of those moments. But I&#8217;m going to do everything in my power to make it work, and I really see the value in franchise golf.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DeChambeau took a moment to appreciate his team as another reason why he is staying with LIV.\u00a0 He really likes the team aspect of the league.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DeChambeau continued with his statement.\u00a0 \u201cJon, Phil, DJ, myself and the guys that have been here from the start, we\u2019re okay. It\u2019s now our responsibility to take care of these kids that believe in us. That\u2019s why I&#8217;m really doing it.
