Recently, Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident, resulting in a DUI arrest<\/a>.\u00a0 This came at an inopportune time for the golfer, as he was working on his grand comeback after going through surgeries and recovery over the course of a year.\u00a0 His fellow players are now commenting on the incident and sharing their opinions on the matter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jon Rahm\u2019s Concern<\/span><\/h2>\n

On Jon Rahm\u2019s side of the conversation, he isn\u2019t sure if the time is right for commenting on it.\u00a0 He is much more sympathetic towards Woods\u2019 situation.\u00a0 Rahm believes that the time is wrong because everyone is just busy this week with the Masters coming up in just a couple of days.\u00a0 He also believes that Woods can make a comeback<\/a> after this; he just needs to lean on a good support group back at home.\u00a0 Still, he only wishes for Woods to get through this struggle and heal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fred Couples On Woods<\/span><\/h2>\n

Couples is a long-time friend of Woods, and like Rahm, he only wishes for the best for his friend.\u00a0 He is also confident that Woods is right where he needs to be for a recovery.\u00a0 Couples was also fairly sympathetic towards Woods.\u00a0 He mainly wished he could just tell Woods that things could \u201calways get better.\u201d\u00a0 Couples is saddened that he won\u2019t see him for a couple of months,<\/a> but again, only wishes for his recovery.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jason Day<\/span><\/h2>\n

When asked about the situation, Jason Day did share his sympathies.\u00a0 Mainly about the struggles that can come about from a painkiller addiction.\u00a0 However, when thinking about the implications of a DUI, he called Tiger Woods\u2019 decision to drive selfish<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Granted, when I look at that, I look at it and go, he’s just a human being like everyone else, and we have struggles. It’s unfortunate.\u00a0 The only thing that I don’t understand is that it’s a little bit selfish of him to drive and put other people in harm’s way, as well. But when you’re the player that he was and how strong-willed he is, he thinks he can do almost anything, and that’s probably why he’s probably driving and a little bit under the influence.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Day emphasized during his statement that Tiger Woods was his hero.\u00a0 Seeing him golf growing up is what got him into the sport.\u00a0 Ultimately, Day just wants to see Woods get better and be able to do what he wants again.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Woods Going To Recovery Again<\/span><\/h2>\n

Tiger Woods\u2019 fellow players mainly showed sympathy towards him after his recent accident.\u00a0 They were saddened to see him take a step back from the sport for a while, but they also understand that it is necessary.\u00a0 Day’s calling the choice selfish was a needed reality check.\u00a0 It didn\u2019t matter that no one else was hurt in the accident; Woods put lives at risk by getting behind the wheel that day.\u00a0 Jason Day said that he understood the struggles of addiction, but his decision to drive was misguided at best.\u00a0 The other players still have all the respect in the world for Woods.\u00a0 He has been so integral in their lives and their decisions regarding the sport.\u00a0 All they want is to see him get better.<\/span><\/p>\n
