The time has finally come in the PGA Tour season, where the best of the best compete in maybe the most illustrious tournament by far. The 2026<\/a> Masters Tournament is set to take place this week, hosting some of the top current and past golfers within the sport. Previous 2025 tournament winner Rory McIlroy will be looking for a replay of success, whereas some like Bryson DeChambeau and Gary Woodland are looking to fulfill a longtime dream. Competition is expected to peak at its highest so far this 2026 season, understanding the winner to walk away Sunday will have bragging rights for quite some time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rivalries Fill Augusta<\/h2>\n

There are a multitude of headlines going into the week of the Masters, one finding its way to the top is the suspected rivalry brewing between Mcllroy and DeChambeau. There has been an unsaid but very evident competition between the two whenever placed both on the green. While being two of the top in the sport of golf, going against each other has birthed something that gives motivation in times like this.\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDo I respect him as an individual? 100 percent\u201d, DeChambeau said.<\/a> \u201cDo I want to beat him every time I see him? Absolutely. There’s no question about it.”<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, it may seem as though Mcllroy is set after earning his green jacket during the 2025 season. What once was a tournament that held much excitement within leading up, is now something that he finds himself not much impressed by.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“For the past 17 years, I just could not wait for the tournament to start … and this year, I wouldn’t care if the tournament never started,\u201d Mcllroy said.\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

A Moment To Seize\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

For many in this tournament, they have a chance to take home what would be their biggest win on the Tour yet to date. One in particular being Woodland, who has battled his way back into playing on the Tour after some reported tough mental battles. For Woodland this is not just a chance to succeed at something he once thought was no longer tangible, but a chance to speak volumes about his battle on the biggest stage yet.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“It’s a big week for me this week. The fans are very close on the tee boxes. There’s a lot going on,\u201d Woodland said.<\/a> \u201cThere’s probably not a safer golf tournament in the world, so I’m happy for that, but it’s still a battle in my head if I’m safe or not. That’s a tough pill to swallow.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Earning his way back into a Masters Tournament lineup is a feat in itself, but also battling through outside elements show only you can write your story. Others like the World No. 1, will also be making a debut after some time away. Scottie Scheffler welcomed a new life into the world, and now is back to leave his mark once again in Augusta. The opportunity is wide open for the field, it will be the golfer who is most consistent throughout that will take home the hardware Sunday evening.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
