Just one month before the 2025 Masters Tournament, legendary golfer Tiger Woods suffered from a ruptured Achilles tendon<\/a>.\u00a0 It was a painful endeavor for Woods and landed him a surgery plus a lengthy recovery time, followed by another surgery.\u00a0 Tonight, Woods is proud to announce that he is making his return to competitive golf, starting with the TGL.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tiger Woods Recovery<\/span><\/h2>\n

Tonight may be Tiger Woods’ grand return after his surgery, but he hasn\u2019t actually played a game since the 2024 Open Championship.\u00a0 Early in 2025, he had a delayed start after his mother passed away, and he took some time off to grieve.\u00a0 Then his tendon ruptured.\u00a0 After that, the only thing he could do was rest and go through physical rehabilitation until he had a disk replacement later in the year.\u00a0 However, he was actually cleared to putt last December<\/a>.\u00a0 There were still some steps he needed to take before making a return, which is why he hasn\u2019t played professionally until now.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Woods In The TGL<\/span><\/h2>\n

Coming directly from the PGA Tour\u2019s official site<\/a>, the news was dropped this morning that Woods would be making his return.\u00a0 He will, of course, play for his team, the Jupiter Links, which needs two wins during tonight’s game to win.\u00a0 One for the chance, one for the gold.\u00a0 The high-tech tournament was founded by Woods so it would be perfect for his grand return.\u00a0 Sure, he missed nearly the entire season, but the heat will be high for these matches.\u00a0 The competitive environment will put some fire under him to perform his best.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Masters And The Champions<\/span><\/h2>\n

Something Tiger Woods has had sitting with him since New Year’s is that he now qualifies for the PGA Tour Champions<\/a>.\u00a0 It\u2019s the seniors circuit that all the greats of the past have gone in after turning 50.\u00a0 The players of the Champions are excited about the idea of Woods playing against them again.\u00a0 He has defeated all of them back when he was first making a name for himself.\u00a0 Now they want to see if he can do it again.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s the Master\u2019s Tournament.\u00a0 That major is only two weeks away.\u00a0 The question there is, will Tiger Woods be able to play?\u00a0 The TGL is a good start as it is very different from the fields of the Augusta National.\u00a0 During the debates about the TGL and back injuries,<\/a> Rory McIlroy has said that he plays harder on the Tour than on the TGL.\u00a0 Woods wants to play the Masters, but he hasn\u2019t said for sure he will be there.\u00a0 Being a five-time champion of the major, the invitation is always sent his way regardless.\u00a0 The Augusta National would be happy to have him on.<\/span><\/p>\n

Comeback For Woods<\/span><\/h2>\n

Tiger Woods is a name that is synonymous with golf.\u00a0 He dominated the sport to the point where everyone has heard his name.\u00a0 The fans are excited to see him back, and so are the players.\u00a0 Tiger Woods has also been itching to return to the sport he loves.\u00a0 It\u2019s been almost two years, and if he can manage to win it for his team on the TGL, that would be and incredibly opener for him.\u00a0 If he can manage a Master’s win, then the legend lives on.<\/span><\/p>\n
