{"id":437825,"date":"2026-03-18T20:25:40","date_gmt":"2026-03-18T20:25:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/?p=437825"},"modified":"2026-03-18T20:25:40","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T20:25:40","slug":"brian-rolapps-plan-seeing-positive-reception-from-pros","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/brian-rolapps-plan-seeing-positive-reception-from-pros\/","title":{"rendered":"Brian Rolapp&#8217;s Plan Seeing Positive Reception From Pros"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0For the 2026 season, Brian Rolapp is working behind the scenes on ways to build up the PGA Tour bigger and better than before.\u00a0 The PGA\u2019s FCC is working on ways to bring this vision to fruition.\u00a0 Just last week, Rolapp sent <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/brian-rolapp-gives-update-on-the-pga-fcc\/\" target=\"_self\">out an open letter to fans that included six key points<\/a>.\u00a0 Now, pros are taking the time to let the news settle and are responding positively to the changes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brian Rolapp\u2019s 6 Key Themes<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The six key themes Rolapp presented are mainly centered around keeping the Tour exciting.\u00a0 Big season openers, a focus on the top players, and making the Tour a bit more exciting for TV.\u00a0 There are also plans being drafted for a two-track system, as a way to sort out the players and reinforce the meritocracy system in terms of screen time.\u00a0 There are also plans for more signature events with a cut in place.\u00a0 Again, to keep things exciting.\u00a0 Nothing is solidified yet; in fact, it may not be the case until 2028, as next season will be more of a trial period for these new ideas.\u00a0 Nonetheless, the players are weighing in on the changes yet to happen.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Players React To The Changes<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a  href=\"https:\/\/golfweek.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/golf\/pga\/2026\/03\/17\/pga-tour-pros-react-to-ceo-brian-rolapp-vision-for-future-changes\/89197320007\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">In a statement, Patrick Rodgers<\/a> gave his two cents on Rolapp\u2019s message.\u00a0 He has stated that he is fairly appreciative of Rolapp\u2019s transparency in keeping everyone updated as time goes on.\u00a0 Looking at the approach, he felt that any changes to the tournaments themselves were fair.\u00a0 He went on to talk about the cut system that could be added to the signatures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;It feels a little silly, but I do think a cut adds to the L.A. Open [Genesis Invitational], Bay Hill, and Jack\u2019s event [The Memorial]. It just keeps you honest in the first couple of rounds, and you&#8217;re really having to fight for it. It&#8217;s definitely something that I&#8217;m aware of as a player. You saw Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/scottie-scheffler-struggled-during-2nd-round-of-arnold-palmer\/\" target=\"_self\">battling to make the cut recently<\/a>. I think that&#8217;s lost if you get rid of [cuts].
