{"id":437689,"date":"2026-02-27T02:18:24","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T02:18:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/?p=437689"},"modified":"2026-02-27T02:18:24","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T02:18:24","slug":"bryson-dechambeau-and-la-golf-split","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/bryson-dechambeau-and-la-golf-split\/","title":{"rendered":"Bryson DeChambeau And LA Golf Split"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Back in 2018, Bryson DeChambeau made a big move in his career.\u00a0 He partnered with a club manufacturer, LA Golf, as an ambassador for the company.\u00a0 Like any equipment-athlete partnership, this came with its benefits.\u00a0 Like early access to new clubs, sponsorships, and most importantly for DeChambeau, custom clubs to his specifications.\u00a0 However, that partnership has come to an end, similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/speculation-arises-after-dustin-johnson-and-taylormade-split\/\" target=\"_self\">Jon Rahm parting with TaylorMade.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bryson DeChambeau\u2019s Relationship With LA Golf<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DeChambeau has been a business partner in LA Golf.\u00a0 Yes, he was used as a point of advertising, but he had more say in the business than a spokesperson would.\u00a0 He had a lot of say in the designs of clubs and the parts that went into them.\u00a0 On the field, LA Golf clubs were his preferred brand.\u00a0 These were custom clubs in every sense of the word.\u00a0 DeChambeau was heavily involved in their construction from the shafts to the heads.\u00a0 He had them in his bag and in his hand when <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/bryson-dechambeau-us-open\/\" target=\"_self\">he won the delayed 2020 US Open.<\/a>\u00a0 He had his clubs with LA Golf heads last year during his tournaments and during <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/bryson-dechambeau-clears-the-air-no-beef-with-rory-after-the-masters\/\" target=\"_self\">the 2025 Masters<\/a>.\u00a0 However, DeChambeau was only a 2% owner of the company, and that became a sticking point.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DeChambeau and LA Golf Split<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, Reed Dickens, the CEO of LA Golf, sat down with DeChambeau&#8217;s consultant to talk about his stake in the company.\u00a0 In an <a  href=\"https:\/\/golf.com\/gear\/bryson-dechambeau-la-golf-split\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">interview with Golf.com<\/a>, Dickens shared what happened behind those closed doors and how it led to the partnership coming to an end.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBryson and I actually have some of the same tendencies, and I have nothing but respect for him,\u201d Dickens said during a 90-minute interview.\u00a0 \u201cBut he has this new consultant, a McKinsey-consulting type guy, and this guy says to me that Bryson is gonna walk unless he gets 51 percent. Bryson\u2019s got 2 percent of the company. And I think the guy doesn\u2019t realize that he\u2019s dealing with a redneck.
