The 2026 PGA Tour season continued with its second tournament, The American Express. It was exactly what you would hope for not only as a golf fan, but a Tour athlete yourself. Competition levels rose every round, even with a young prospect in Blades Brown<\/a> putting on a strong showing. With the top in the sport Scottie Scheffler keeping himself in the running for things all weekend, he managed to put forth a display of top tier golf. Finishing the final round with nine birdies, posting a 6-under 66 to win by four shots Sunday. Again showing his peers and many around the sport, why he is so dominant and highly recognized amongst the best to ever play in the Tour.\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Dominance Continues As Expected<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Picking up where he left off in the 2025 season, Scheffler is hitting the ground running with his first season victory. Having some rather unexpected pressure from those like Blades Brown and Si Woo Kim, Scheffler remained poised and delivered.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was so cool watching Scottie win in person and getting to play with him. He’s such an unbelievable guy,\u201d Scheffler said.<\/a> \u201cHe talked to me numerous times throughout the round and was giving me a lot of encouragement, so it was awesome.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Being able to receive that feedback from your peers even after handing them a tough loss, speaks volumes to his influence on the sport thus far. Hitting on a milestone this victory that only three in the sport have. With 20 plus wins and four plus major victories, he joins the company of Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere’s always a certain amount of rust when it comes to playing competitive golf,\u201d Scheffler said.<\/a> \u201cYou can simulate as best you can at home, but you can only get into the heat of the moment when you\u2019re posting a score and you\u2019re in contention when you\u2019re at a tournament. So it\u2019s nice to see some of the stuff that I\u2019ve been practicing and working on has paid off.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Solidifying Legacy\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As the world\u2019s No. 1 player begins yet another season, things this time around are much more centered on trying to focus on the controllables.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPretty wild,\u201d Scheffler said. \u201cIt’s been a great start to my career. It’s been special. I try not to think about that stuff too much. I was just trying to do the things I needed to do to be prepared.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

With the 2026 season slated to continue with Farmers Insurance Open, a back-to-back tournament victory is in the front view for Scheffler. With what has been labeled as sometimes astonishing play from others, seems to now be the regular for the world No. 1.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
