Midway through the 2025 season, Scottie Scheffler managed to go 100 weeks straight as the world’s No. 1 golfer.\u00a0 It was quite an accomplishment that not many golfers can lay claim to.\u00a0 The last one was Tiger Woods.\u00a0 Now Scheffler is over 140 weeks into his streak.\u00a0 On top of that, 2026 is poised to be his season going forward.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Halfway To Beating Woods\u2019 Record<\/span><\/h2>\n

Being the world number one is already an achievement that some can only dream of.\u00a0 Being in that position for years at a time is something else entirely.\u00a0 Currently, Scottie Scheffler sits at 141 consecutive weeks at the top.\u00a0 Tiger Woods’ current record is 281 weeks, set back in 2010.\u00a0 This does mean that Scheffler is at the halfway point of beating Woods\u2019 five-year streak.\u00a0 Sure, it\u2019s a few years away, but if Scheffler stays on this track, his name will be immortalized in the sports hall of fame.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scheffler’s Strong Start<\/span><\/p>\n

Sure, Scheffler has only been in two events this year, but he has had a pretty strong showing already.\u00a0 Starting in the Hero World Challenge, Scheffler finished at T4. Competition is pretty stiff at this event, as it is only played by some of the most skilled players in the world.\u00a0 For his first PGA regular-season event, Scheffler went to the American Express, where he won the event.\u00a0 Just two events into 2026, and Scheffler is doing pretty well for himself.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scheffler\u2019s Remaining Major<\/span><\/h2>\n

Now for the big thing that Scheffler needs to do this year.\u00a0 Despite being the world’s No. 1 for 141 consecutive weeks, he still hasn\u2019t made his career grand slam<\/a>. \u00a0 He came incredibly close last year.\u00a0 At the start of the 2025 season, he needed two wins to complete his grand slam,<\/a> the US Open and The Open.\u00a0 Scheffler managed to get The Open in the UK but not the US Open.\u00a0 He was one of the players who struggled with the infamous Oakmont golf course.\u00a0 Scheffler has one shot at redemption this year, and if he clutches it, he will have a trophy from all four majors.\u00a0 Other commentators and players are rooting for Scheffler as well<\/a>.\u00a0 When Gary Player was asked who he thought<\/a> was up next for the Grand Slam, he unequivocally answered Scheffler.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNo question, Scottie Scheffler,\u201d Player answered.\u00a0 \u201cI mean, Scottie Scheffler is the best player in the world today. One thing that fascinated me, I\u2019ve been talking to some coaches around the country to see what we could do about my Grandson, to get him on a team, and I was speaking to the man in Dallas the other day and he said, \u2018Scottie Scheffler was at our college, we knew what a good player he was but he was the best athlete\u2019. So that is a very significant thing.\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

The Year Of Scottie Scheffler<\/span><\/h2>\n

The year may be young, but Scottie Scheffler has a lot to look forward to this year.\u00a0 He is already in the top five positions for his first two events, and his No 1 streak is still going strong.\u00a0 All on top of one major left for his own career grand slam.\u00a0 The 2026 season is shaping up to be an exciting one for the world no. 1.<\/span><\/p>\n
