{"id":437506,"date":"2025-11-30T04:41:20","date_gmt":"2025-11-30T04:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/?p=437506"},"modified":"2025-11-30T04:41:20","modified_gmt":"2025-11-30T04:41:20","slug":"brian-rolapp-hints-at-schedule-changes-in-the-coming-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/brian-rolapp-hints-at-schedule-changes-in-the-coming-future\/","title":{"rendered":"Brian Rolapp Hints At Schedule Changes In The Coming Future"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over the summer, the PGA saw a major change in leadership.\u00a0 This was <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/brian-rolapp-ceo-pga-tour\/\" target=\"_self\">Brian Rolapp stepping into the position of CEO<\/a> after leaving the NFL.\u00a0 Already, Rolapp is<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/player-reactions-to-brian-rolapps-appointment\/\" target=\"_self\"> looking at new ways to improve the league<\/a> and to bring in more viewers and fans.\u00a0 He plans on doing this by creating \u201cmore events that matter.\u201d\u00a0 In an <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/video\/2025\/11\/24\/ceo-council-forum-a-new-experience.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">interview on the CNBC\u2019s CEO Council Forum,<\/a> Rolapp laid out his plans for the Tour.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rolapp On The Competitive Nature Of Golf<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brian Rolapp made it a point to bring up a few key principles that the sport needs to meet to adapt.\u00a0 He started by praising how competitive each tournament can get, where it can be genuinely difficult to tell who will take home the win.\u00a0 As a matter of fact, being the best player in the world doesn\u2019t guarantee a win.\u00a0 For example, Scottie Sheffler is number one in the world, yet he doesn\u2019t have a career grand slam under his belt, and has only 19 wins out of the 150 events he has played in.\u00a0 Rolapp stated that a razor-thin difference between the No. 1 and the No. 50 would be a great asset.\u00a0 He called it the hardest part of what he wanted for the sport, and it already had that long before he arrived.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rolapp Explains The Schedule Revamp<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A goal Rollapp has for the schedule is to make it more summer-focused.\u00a0 This way, golf doesn\u2019t compete with other major sports, such as football.\u00a0 During this interview, the idea of starting after the Super Bowl was floated, and Brian Rolapp said that it was a future he could see.\u00a0 At some point, there was a concern that this was more based on Rolapp\u2019s experience with the NFL.\u00a0 Rolapp had this to say:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;It&#8217;s not NFL-izing, it&#8217;s creating more events that matter.
