Canter\u2019s Opinion On LIV Golf<\/span><\/h2>\n

The news of Laurie Canter considering rejoining LIV Golf comes courtesy of Sports Business Journal<\/a>.\u00a0 It is also confusing because Canter just earned his Tour Card last week at the DP World Tour Championship.\u00a0 There, he finished T3 and gathered enough points to earn him that Tour Card.\u00a0 The sources that SBJ cites are kept anonymous in the article announcing the switch, but according to the author, they are familiar with the matter.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What This Would Mean For Canter<\/span><\/p>\n

For Canter, a return to LIV Golf would, of course, be incredibly lucrative.\u00a0 It would also mean a fresh start in the league.\u00a0 It is unclear if he would be able to join his old team, the Cleeks GC, but there are other teams with openings.\u00a0 Teams like the HyFlyers, Torque, and the Iron Heads, all of which saw a member relegated this year.\u00a0 Some say that he will likely take Henrik Stenson\u2019s spot on the Majesticks<\/a>.\u00a0 As for the Tour Card, it would instead go to the runner-up for 10th on the DP World Tour race to Dubai.\u00a0 It would also mean that the history Canter made by switching between the leagues would be made void by switching back.\u00a0 A strange thing for golf trivia nights when they get to the LIV Golf category of the game.<\/span><\/p>\n
