Golf legend Tiger Woods<\/a> and baseball icon Mike Trout<\/a> have teamed up to bring to life one of the world’s most hyped golf projects, Trout National \u2013 The Reserve, a private, luxury golf club in southern New Jersey. The $100 million project opened for preview play in October, and the team will officially launch it by spring with unique features and amenities.<\/p>\n

How Trout National Came To Life<\/h3>\n

Trout is a three-time American League MVP who grew up in Millville, New Jersey, and still considers southern New Jersey his home during the baseball off-season. In 2023, Trout announced plans to build a members-only golf club just outside Vineland, near where he was born, in collaboration with Tiger Woods through his firm, TGR Design, which is in charge of the design.<\/p>\n

Trout said that building a course close to his roots \u201cmeans everything\u201d to him, as a way to give back to his community. Woods, too, expressed enthusiasm, calling the site \u201ca great spot for golf\u201d and saying his team was excited to create something special for Trout and his family.<\/p>\n

The land chosen for the course offers dramatic character and history. The site once housed a silica sand mine, and the team is now transforming the rugged terrain into sculpted fairways, sandy waste areas, and natural features that will define the golf holes. The championship layout is a par-72 course stretching up to 7,600 square feet with its own comfort station, equipped with indoor\/outdoor Trackman bays, PuttView, Force Plate technology, and a stretching lab.<\/p>\n

The Incredible Features Of Trout National<\/h3>\n

Trout National is surrounded by 14-foot walls. It features a six-hole fully lit reversible short course known as The Bullpen, in addition to the main 18-hole course, also designed by Tiger\u2019s TGR design team. It also has a high-quality practice range, a short-game area, and a putting course that together make up a comprehensive, immersive golf experience.<\/p>\n

The plans also include a five-star clubhouse, lodging options, and even a wedding chapel. There will be ten suites in the clubhouse, two lodges with 12 bedrooms each, and six four-bedroom cottages spread around the short course. Other amenities described in planning documents include a full performance center with technology for golf training, indoor putting labs, and hitting bays. It also features \u201ccomfort stations\u201d on the course, including one called \u201cThe Dugout\u201d \u2013 an amenity station built into the ground behind the 14th and 16th teeing areas.<\/p>\n

Another striking feature is an on-course gathering area named Aaron\u2019s, in memory of Trout\u2019s late brother-in-law. It spans several holes and includes terraces, fire pits, and an indoor-outdoor bar where members can relax and watch other players. Trout National is widely regarded as the biggest development project in South Jersey history since Atlantic City and will be open to just 227 members.<\/p>\n
