{"id":437316,"date":"2025-11-04T04:41:18","date_gmt":"2025-11-04T04:41:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/?p=437316"},"modified":"2025-11-04T04:41:18","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T04:41:18","slug":"patrick-reed-sees-support-for-ryder-cup-comments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/patrick-reed-sees-support-for-ryder-cup-comments\/","title":{"rendered":"Patrick Reed Sees Support For Ryder Cup Comments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As eventful as the 2025 Ryder Cup was, one thing that keeps hanging over the tournament like a thick black storm cloud is t<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/bethpage-black-turns-hostile-as-rory-mcilroy-and-shane-lowry-face-worst-behavior-ever-seen\/\" target=\"_self\">he hecklers<\/a>.\u00a0 It has overshadowed most discussion about the game, so much so that one of the victims of the heckling, Rory McIlroy, has stated that <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/rory-mcilroy-wants-the-ryder-cup-discussion-to-shift\/\" target=\"_self\">he hardly sees talk about the game itself<\/a>.\u00a0 Many pros from around the world have given their takes on the issue, but recently, Patrick Reed has also shared his thoughts.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reed On The Ryder Cup<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, Patrick Reed had an <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.bunkered.co.uk\/golf-news\/patrick-reed-qa-ryder-cup-fans-liv-golf-contract\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">interview with Bunkered<\/a>.\u00a0 This is the same i<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/patrick-reed-confirms-new-liv-golf-contract\/\" target=\"_self\">nterview where he revealed that he was sticking with LIV Golf<\/a> and is going through the process of contract renewal.\u00a0 Part of the discussion went to the Ryder Cup.\u00a0 He mostly talked about how he believed that he could be an asset to the US team, given that he was on it three times in his career.\u00a0 Then the discussion went to fan behavior.\u00a0 Reed has seen the clips of the hecklers going after the Euro team, and he was mortified.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe way I heard the fans acted in New York was uncalled for,\u201d\u00a0 Reed told Bunkered.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s embarrassing as an American. I mean, you don\u2019t do that. You don\u2019t act the way you did, say the things you say. Stuff like\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that that needs to be looked at, needs to be checked.
