{"id":437311,"date":"2025-11-03T02:31:52","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T02:31:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/?p=437311"},"modified":"2025-11-03T02:31:52","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T02:31:52","slug":"patrick-reed-confirms-new-liv-golf-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/patrick-reed-confirms-new-liv-golf-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"Patrick Reed Confirms New LIV Golf Contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year, there have been a number of rumors surrounding LIV Golf and its enrollment of star players.\u00a0 Those rumors being, who will stay and who will go?\u00a0 The first wave of players are seeing their contracts on the verge of expiring, and with LIV Golf\u2019s standing in the world, fans are wondering if there is going to be an exodus of players.\u00a0 However, there are a few who h<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/bryson-dechambeau-confirms-liv-golf-contract-negotiations\/\" target=\"_self\">ave confirmed that they will be staying<\/a>, and that includes Patrick Reed.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Patrick Reed\u2019s Time On LIV<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reed was a part of that first wave of LIV sign-ups back when the league was making its debut in 2022.\u00a0 He is also on Dustin Johnson\u2019s team, the 4Aces, and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/dustin-johnson-signs-new-liv-deal-ending-rumors-of-pga-return\/#google_vignette\" target=\"_self\">he also confirmed that he was staying<\/a> with LIV recently.\u00a0 Reed hasn\u2019t entirely stuck to LIV Golf.\u00a0 Like other players, he earns points in the DP World Tour and the Asian Tour.\u00a0 This helps keep him in the OWGR top 50, as well as maintaining his presence in the majors.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reed On Staying With LIV<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The news emerged during what feels like a transitional period for LIV.\u00a0 As stated before, a lot of contracts are due to expire and need to be re-signed to keep the players on.\u00a0 This subject emerged during an interview Patrick Reed had with Bunkered.\u00a0 A larger part of the interview happened to be about US fan behavior during the Ryder Cup.\u00a0 When asked about his LIV contract, Reed gave <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.bunkered.co.uk\/golf-news\/patrick-reed-qa-ryder-cup-fans-liv-golf-contract\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the following answer<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cRight now, we\u2019re in the process of working with them and re-signing,\u201d Reed said.\u00a0 \u201cI really enjoy being on LIV. I feel like it\u2019s a great place to play, and it\u2019s an awesome new format. I love having that team aspect of it. It\u2019s a place I feel like I\u2019d love to stay, and my whole dream has always been to be a worldwide player, try to grow the game worldwide, and the only way you\u2019re going to do that is by playing worldwide.\u00a0 I feel like being a part of LIV definitely allows me to have that type of schedule to be able to play around the world and touch different parts of basically every edge of the earth.
