With the Ryder Cup slowly approaching for competition, many of the athletes got the chance to shake off some rust with the Procore Championship. Fitting in as prep for the Ryder Cup, it wasn\u2019t a shock to see Scottie Scheffler hoisting yet another trophy at the end. Scheffler managed to overcome his cup teammate in Ben Griffin,<\/a> with a one shot victory in the final round of play. This victory marked the sixth win of this season, and makes him the fourth player since 1960 to win six or more times in consecutive seasons on the PGA Tour.<\/a> Joining the company of greats like Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and the great Arnold Palmer. With a nice warm-up, the World No. 1 is gearing up for a strong appearance at the Ryder Cup.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ryder Cup Together<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It\u2019s almost as if many around the sport expect Scheffler to win most tournaments he appears in. It\u2019s the confidence, skill, and love for the game that is put on display every outing. His performance at the Procore showed just that, starting off slow but working his way to a first place finish.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI always focus as much as I can on my preparation going into tournaments, that\u2019s what gives me confidence, and I feel like I\u2019m as prepared as possible for the Ryder Cup,\u201d Scheffler said.<\/a> \u201cI think we\u2019re all excited for the tournament to get started. We\u2019ve got three days in New York to compete and have fun. We\u2019re all looking forward to it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Still securing season victories is a great feat by all means, but the golden prize is a Ryder Cup win. Having the chance to compete against and with his teammates, gave the chance for an in depth look. The talent throughout was shown with Cameron Young and J.J. Spaun both carding top ten finishes, and a strong beginning start by Russel Henley.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBen\u2019s a guy that has always put in a ton of work and he\u2019s always looking to improve,\u201d Scheffler said.\u00a0<\/a> \u201cHe\u2019s never lacked confidence, and he\u2019s going to be a great part of our Ryder Cup team this year, and I\u2019m sure he\u2019ll be a part of many teams going forward as well.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Bring It All Home\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The picture perfect Tour season would be a dominant showing in the Ryder Cup, by all team members but Scheffler especially. His ability to start off slow in a tournament, yet still end up victorious is special. Special in the sense that it requires the best out of his opponents, and lucky for the American team they act as teammates. Getting the best out of those like Spaun and Henley in a key environment, will be the deciding factor of success.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like I just wasn\u2019t quite as sharp from short range as I needed to be,\u201d said Griffin, who has finished runner-up to Scheffler twice this year. \u201cBut I\u2019ll get to work this next week and hopefully make every single one of them at the Ryder Cup.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As the anticipated tournament comes around to reality, there will be intense competition from both sides. Next level skill will be shown all throughout the field, but with only one team walking away as winners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re all excited to get there to Bethpage and start the tournament,\u201d Scheffler said<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019ve got three days to see who\u2019s the better team and it\u2019s going to be a good battle<\/span><\/p>\n
