Reed of the 4Aces GC made a strong charge on Sunday to secure his place near the top of the leaderboard. The American fired a 6-under 66 in the final round to close out the week at 16 under par, finishing tied for third. His total was three shots short of the playoff between Alex Noren and Adrien Saddier, who battled for the title. Reed posted steady scores of 69, 68, 69, and 66 across four rounds, and the result marked his fourth top-five finish in four appearances at Wentworth.

Keep Reading: Patrick Reed Shares Thoughts on Possible Ryder Cup Captain’s Pick

Former BMW PGA champion and runner-up Tyrrell Hatton represented Legion XIII. The 33-year-old finished tied for fifth at 15 under with an impressive scorecard of 69 in the opening round, 70 on Friday, a sparkling 64 on Saturday, and a closing 70 on Sunday. The highlight of his week came during the third round, where he surged up the leaderboard with an aggressive display of scoring but ultimately fell just short of mounting a final-day push for the title.

McKibbin, Rham and Niemann Also Shine

Legion XIII’s Tom McKibbin continued to build on his growing reputation as one of golf’s brightest young players. The 22-year-old Northern Irishman produced rounds of 69, 70, 69, and 66 to finish tied for 11th at 14 under. McKibbin recorded back-to-back sub-70 rounds that pushed him inside the top 15. His strong showing added further weight to the idea that he is quickly establishing himself on the international stage and has the tools to challenge for even bigger results in the near future.

Jon Rahm put together rounds of 71, 69, 69, and 66 to close the tournament at 13 under and ended tied for 13th. While the Legion XIII captain didn’t finish close to the very top of the leaderboard, his final-round 66 was a reminder of his ability to produce low scores when it matters. The result added to his consistent run of form and contributed to another strong LIV Golf presence inside the top 20 at Wentworth.

Torque GC captain Joaquin Niemann rounded out the group of LIV players with strong performances. Moreover, the Chilean was making his debut at Wentworth golf Club and handled the challenge well. He opened with a 72, then steadied himself with a 70 in the second round before surging up the board with a 65 on Saturday. A final-round 69 left him at 12 under and tied for 20th in his first appearance at the BMW PGA Championship.

Main Photo Credit: © Marc Lebryk-Imagn Images

LIV Golf had an impressive showing at the DP World Tour’s BMW PGA Championship.
