Following this illustrious season of golf up, is the much anticipated <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/why-keegan-bradley-refused-to-be-the-u-s-ryder-cup-playing-captain\/\" target=\"_self\">Ryder Cup<\/a>. With the biggest story-line thus far coming in the decision team captain Keegan Bradley, decided to make ahead of the competition. That decision being the toss up between a career long dream and a selfless choice to let others get a bit of shine. Bradley has ultimately decided to give up his spot on the Ryder Cup team and work his magic as a team captain, a much deserving opportunity as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Captain Bradley<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The choice between keeping yourself as a captain and joining the team, or deciding between the two is truly a difficult decision for anyone. It was even more difficult for Bradley, being he deserved to be on the Ryder Cup team by all means. Showcasing his skill-set this Tour season, Bradley would have been picked in a heartbeat if given different circumstances.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019ll ever be more surprised of anything in my entire life,\u201d Bradley said when brought on as captain. \u201cOne thing that is important to me is I want to play on the team. Hard because many in the sport of golf have lifelong dreams and this was one of them for Bradley. Deciding to leave himself out and not take up a spot on the team, left many around the sport in shock and deservingly so.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;The decision was made a while ago that I wasn&#8217;t playing,&#8221; Bradley <a href=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/live\/us-ryder-cup-captains-picks-2025-live-updates\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said.<\/a> &#8220;There was a point this year where I was playing, a while ago. All these guys stepped up in a major way and played their way on this team.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The team will consist of some top names seen throughout this 2025 Tour season of play. Those like Scottie Scheffler, Russel Henley, Xander Schauffele, and even Bryson DeChambeau. Forming a team with these names is nothing short of top tier talent all across the board, but one can only think of the possibilities with Bradley added as well. He will get the chance to oversee the competition and add pointers when needed from his captain position. The ability to lead this powerful formed team will be more lasting in the eyes of many.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Just The Beginning<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having the task of choosing six out of 12 players on the team, left a big duty in the hands of Bradley. Yet one he fully embraced, and now will be able to reap the benefits of an honorable decision. There may not be many who decide to take the same road as Bradley, and walk away from such an honorable milestone. Yet, that same decision has turned into a lesson for many of his peers and golfers starting their career.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;No matter what decision I make, I&#8217;m going to be defined by this decision,&#8221; Bradley <a href=\"https:\/\/www.golfmonthly.com\/news\/live\/us-ryder-cup-captains-picks-2025-live-updates\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said.<\/a> &#8220;If we win, it doesn&#8217;t matter what decision I make.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This decision will follow Bradley for the rest of his career, as he navigates through his already impressive years. Although the choice has been questioned by some, the veteran is standing tall in his choice ahead of the Ryder Cup. A win by this stoutly formed team may change the narrative, but will not lose sight of the lesson.
