Despite these near-misses, Fleetwood remains focused on the process and will be hoping to finally make his lead count this time.

Fleetwood’s consistency has been evident throughout the season, with multiple top-10 finishes and a T-3 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. His ability to stay in contention week after week underscores his skill and determination. Fleetwood will be looking to end his winless streak that stretches back to 2017 as he heads into the final two rounds at East Lake. The 34-year-old’s second-round 7-under 63 at East Lake Golf Club took him to a share of the lead with Russell Henley, and he said after the round that he is already imagining winning the tournament.

“Every tournament we play, I would picture myself winning it,” Fleetwood said after his round on Friday. “I would say it’s just another one of those. Obviously, it’s a very coveted one and a very big one, but yeah, I always sort of feel like I imagine winning every tournament, and this is just another one of those.”

Fleetwood Excited To Be in Contention Again

A victory this weekend would be a significant achievement for Fleetwood. Not only would he claim his first PGA Tour title in nearly eight years, but he would also cap off a strong season with one of golf’s most prestigious tournaments. And with a $10 million FedEx Cup prize on the line, Fleetwood says he’s excited to have the opportunity to be in contention again following last week’s disappointment.

Jun 21, 2025; Cromwell, Connecticut, USA; Tommy Fleetwood lines up a putt on the ninth hole during the third round of the Travelers Championship golf tournament.
