With the 2025 PGA Tour<\/a> now headed into prime-time playoff action, the race for champion status is underway at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. While many were expecting a tournament filled with high level play, things were taken off track by thunderstorms and reported weather. Round two of play will now continue beginning Saturday morning, bringing life back into the FedEx playoff run. It will be infesting to see how those in the field of play adjust, now having to factor in possible weather mishaps. Many will not have continued chances in the playoffs, so attention to detail is key to stay alive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rain Toughest Opponent<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It seems as though the conditions are setting out to be the strongest competition against the field. After calling a halt to play, twenty-one of the 69 players in the field will need to complete their second round Saturday morning. The final group has eight holes remaining, before play at TPC Southwind can enter into third round competition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Englishman in Tommy Fleetwood<\/a> has a four-shot lead as it stands, and is searching for his first ever PGA Tour victory in 161 events. With the weather playing against everyone, Fleetwood is searching for more separation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt hasn\u2019t happened for me yet out on the PGA Tour but I would much rather be up there and not quite get it done than not there at all,\u201d Fleetwood said.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Lights Camera Action\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As round two play will continue on beginning Saturday morning, the question remains on who will overcome the outside conditions. It\u2019s no longer about who can hit the ball best, but the golfer who\u2019s able to withstand the mental and outside elements at play. With Fleetwood looking like one who can make his career dreams come true this weekend, still a long road.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWho knows, maybe this weekend is the weekend and we\u2019ll see, and we\u2019ll crack on from there,\u201d Fleetwood said.\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

The weather forecast ahead of Saturday looks to be more favorable for the field. As reports come in with mostly clear overheads, and comfortable weather reaching upwards of 90 degrees. FedExCup playoffs will continue on and the number of contenders will dwindle every tournament.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
