The 28-year-old Englishman is in the middle of a breakout year on the PGA Tour, putting together a string of strong finishes and showing remarkable consistency.

Hall’s Recent Form Hard To Ignore

Hall has become one of the most consistent performers among European players on the PGA Tour. He hasn’t missed a single cut in five months and has recorded eight top-25 finishes in his last nine starts. He is statistically the best putter on the PGA Tour, leading the strokes gained category. Hall also won last year’s ISCO Championship opposite the British Open,

The 28-year-old opened with a strong round and looked poised to compete again at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis. But despite playing some of the best golf among potential Ryder Cup players, Hall clearly treats the topic of selection as a sensitive subject. Hall currently sits 23rd on the European points list- far from an automatic spot. That means he’ll need a captain’s pick from Luke Donald to make the team heading to Bethpage in New York.

A reporter asked Hall about the Ryder Cup, but he quickly brushed off the question.

“No, I don’t want to talk about the Ryder Cup.”

Hall a Long Shot For His First Ryder Cup Appearance

Hall started showing flashes of brilliance in 2024. He finished T10 at the Charles Schwab Challenge, T13 at the Mexico Open, and picked up multiple top-25s throughout the year. He ended the season inside the top 100 in the FedExCup standings — a solid finish for a relatively new face on Tour.

Aug 7, 2025; Memphis, Tennessee, USA; Harry Hall walks down the ninth fairway during the first round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship golf tournament. His 2024 putting stats were already elite, and in 2025 he has taken his short game to an even higher level. But he’s still a long shot for a captain’s pick, and his chances of making his first Ryder Cup appearance look slim.

Team Europe might decide to choose a veteran like Justin Rose, who brings experience over an in-form player like Hall. Rose played a key part in Europe’s victory in Rome two years ago, and the 45-year-old has made six appearances for Europe. However, Hall is currently the in-form player despite being ranked 69th in the world. The 28-year-old may be silent about his Ryder Cup chances, but his game is doing all the talking — and he’ll likely face more Ryder Cup questions if he keeps up his impressive form.

Main Photo Credit: © Aaron Doster-Imagn Images

Harry Hall has declined to talk about his Ryder Cup chances despite an impressive season that has placed him among Europe’s most in-form golfers.
