There has been a recent emergence between the PGA<\/a> Tour and the\u00a0 Hollywood movie spotlight. Coming with the emergence of Happy Gilmore 2 starring Adam Sandler and many others in the spotlight of many different lanes. The movie has been able to draw the attention of many Tour athletes like Scottie Scheffler<\/a>. Happy Gilmore has been a staple in the golf world, of what it could be like in an alternate reality. A premier of the movie was held by Netflix, welcoming the many faces who uphold the Tour today.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gilmore Fact Or Fiction?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Now it\u2019s a clear understanding between the play of the character Happy Gilmore, and what we see in the Tour everyday. Yet it\u2019s the thought of being able to have that freedom that many growing up took with them throughout.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Everybody knows what the Happy Gilmore swing is,” Scottie Scheffler said<\/a> at the debut. “Everybody tries to enact it when they\u2019re young. It\u2019s a part of golf culture for sure.”<\/span><\/p>\n

That golf culture is what thrives the Tour in the many different tournaments seen. From the fans to the media, the energy is felt throughout and rightly so. Incorporating athletes like Tony Finau, Scottie Scheffler, and Xander Schauffele, some were able to live out lifelong dreams.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels surreal, to be honest,” Finau said.<\/a>“I think ‘Happy Gilmore’ is one of the greatest comedies of all time. To be a part of the sequel, it\u2019s not even a dream come true because I didn\u2019t even dream that something like this could happen. So it\u2019s pretty special.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Real Influence\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Golf is where a lot of these athletes are able to showcase the best of them, outside of their everyday life. Being on top of the leader-board and grabbing a win is always a key objective. Although the ability to have fun while doing it is an aspect many strive for. The addition of many Tour athletes into this movie gave them that chance, a chance to show another side of themselves.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Giving the many current faces of the Tour a platform to mix both cultures into one has been a long awaited journey. Nearly three decades later, this sequel has had the effect many had envisioned over the course of creation. Now many will have this imprint and be able to watch this film for years to come. Tour fans all over are now starting to see the evolution of the game in all areas, only influencing the younger generations to uphold a much deserved standard.<\/span><\/p>\n
