The reality of pressure in the game of golf for many,\u00a0 has been career ending or altering going forward in their game. It is the rare ability to embrace that pressure and still achieve,<\/a> seen in the play of those like Scottie Scheffler and Rory Mcllroy. In particular McIlroy has been feeding off that pressure after a 2025 Masters victory, while still searching for the next steps in his well respected career. With many of his beginning career goals finally coming to fruition, there is a new level of respect and desire to keep fueling his competitive nature. With his most recent finish tied for second at the Genesis Scottish Open, reminding himself and others his play remains at a high level.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Always Room For More Improvement\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Now, Mcllroy is by far one of the most decorated PGA Tour athletes to have played the sport of golf. With 29 Tour victories to his name, 11 international wins, what does success continue to look like for the veteran.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLook, you dream about the final putt going in at the Masters, but you don\u2019t think about what comes next,\u201d McIlroy said.<\/a> \u201cI think I\u2019ve always been a player that struggles to play after a big event, after I win whatever tournament. I always struggle to show up with motivation the next week because you\u2019ve just accomplished something and you want to enjoy it and you want to sort of relish the fact that you\u2019ve achieved a goal.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The sights were set early on checking boxes in terms of success, after hitting that mark things start to be put into question and retrospect.<\/a> Mcllroy has achieved things many in the PGA tour will never, but now it\u2019s about putting himself first instead of the game he loves.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI think I do feel a little clearer,\u201d McIlroy said during the tournament at the Renaissance Club. \u201cIt\u2019s amazing what ten days or two weeks of just a little bit of detachment can do for you, and sitting there being with your own thoughts for a while.<\/span><\/p>\n

New Sight Of Importance\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

While becoming a member of the Tour in 2010, his name has been a part of the sport for quite some time. It\u2019s no longer about one tournament victory for the veteran, but now achieving marks that will put his name on top undoubtedly. Coming out most recently with a second place finish, puts his mental and physical game in the right direction by all means.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a great week,\u201d McIlroy said.<\/a> \u201cI\u2019m really happy with where my game is; the way I played over the weekend; the shots that I hit, how I controlled my ball flight. It has been a great week. Missing the trophy, that\u2019s about it.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All immediate attention has now been set towards The Open, and his expected performance. With a loaded field of the top in the Tour, McIlroy will need that continued focus and eagerness to ink his name even higher into history books.<\/span><\/p>\n
