How Fleetwood Came Close To His First PGA Tour Win<\/h2>\n

Fleetwood carried a three-shot lead into the final round at TPC River Highlands and it looked like the long wait for a PGA Tour victory was finally coming to an end. But golf has a cruel way of reminding even the best players how unpredictable it can be. A couple of costly bogeys on the closing holes, including at the daunting 16th and 18th, saw his lead vanish. Keegan Bradley capitalized on the opportunity, snatching victory by a single stroke.<\/p>\n

The look on Fleetwood\u2019s face as he walked off the final green told the whole story. He had been here before. He had felt the sting of coming close, only to fall just short. After the round, Fleetwood faced the media despite his disappointment. He took full responsibility for falling short and admitted there\u2019s still plenty of work to do to improve his game ahead of other tournaments. Fleetwood\u2019s performance earned him over $1.8 million in prize money.<\/a> His career PGA Tour earnings now stand at more than $31 million, making him the first player in history to cross the $30 million mark without a single tournament win.<\/p>\n
