href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/rbc-canadian-open-sees-several-withdrawals-before-the-event\/\" target=\"_self\">due to the high turnover<\/a> and being the event just before a major, this event has been filled with massive moments.\u00a0 Moments involving <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/luke-clanton-to-make-pro-debut-at-rbc-canadian-open\/\" target=\"_self\">a rookie getting his start<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/greyson-sigg-leaves-rbc-canadian-open-for-exciting-reasons\/\" target=\"_self\">another golfer becoming a dad<\/a>. \u00a0 It all ended with Ryan Fox getting his second PGA win in just a month during his 14-year-long career.\u00a0 Fox has also gotten praise for another thing.\u00a0 In the ever-long debate about the pace of play, Fox has been called aspirational.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fox\u2019s Performance At The RBC Canadian Open<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since going pro back in 2011, Ryan Fox has not had much luck in the <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.pgatour.com\/player\/29936\/ryan-fox\/career\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PGA with only five top ten finishes<\/a>.\u00a0 He has only two victories, counting the Canadian Open, and his previous one was the 2025 ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, just under one month ago.\u00a0 Hasn\u2019t stopped Fox from putting himself in the top 50 for the OWGR, with a current 25th place standing in the FedEx Cup.\u00a0 Also, it hasn\u2019t stopped him from competing in the last three Summer Olympics either.\u00a0 This feels like another come-from-behind performance when looking at his overall career.\u00a0 Now he has two victories under his belt, with praise for his speed all in one month.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michael Kim Comments<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ryan Fox\u2019s speed was noted by Michael Kim on his Twitter account.\u00a0 He went on to <a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Mike_kim714\/status\/1931837366110724467?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1931837366110724467%7Ctwgr%5Ea55108a5558f04a1e32855633e6a2ef9323ec9fa%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thegolfinggazette.com%2Fnews%2Fmichael-kim-posts-message-about-ryan-foxs-pace-of-play-after-his-win-at-the-canadian-open%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">call his pace of play \u201caspirational\u201d<\/a>,\u00a0 and the comments are in agreement with Kim.\u00a0 One comment saying:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHe does just walk up to the ball and hit the snot out of it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another comment said:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt\u2019s a welcome sight.\u00a0 No reason dudes need to fall 2 holes behind.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commenters were also saying how Fox\u2019s pace of play should be emulated across the board.\u00a0 However, there were a couple who thought he might have gone a bit too fast, and it might have affected Burns putting on pressure to speed up.\u00a0 Overall, the comments were very positive about Fox\u2019s speed, and they want to see more of that.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fox\u2019s Pace Of Play Should Be The Standard<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The commenters on Fox\u2019s pace of play looked at his performance and saw a glimmer of hope for ending slow play.\u00a0 This has been a significant year for progress in the pace of play. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/2025\/04\/18\/pace-of-play-being-addressed-at-rbc-heritage\/\" target=\"_self\">The RBC Heritage took steps to curb the issue<\/a>, and this year was the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/new-pace-of-play-rules-sees-first-penalty-since-implementation\/\" target=\"_self\"> first slow-play penalty in years.<\/a>\u00a0 Yet there have been plenty more events that struggled with the pace of play at various points.\u00a0 One major one was at the Masters Tournament, which was rumored to have distracted Rory McIlroy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With slow play being such a long-standing issue, it\u2019s good to see it finally being addressed.\u00a0 With pressure coming from fans and players alike, the PGA is finally doing something.\u00a0 Now there is an example of a player emulating exactly what needs to happen.\u00a0 Players like Lucas Glover won\u2019t be satisfied with just one good game from one player, though.\u00a0 What Fox accomplished should be expected from all players, and with all the positive attention it has
