Robert MacIntyre is full of confidence going into the 2025 RBC Canadian Open. The 28-year-old left-hander won his first-ever PGA Tour victory at this event last year, and he is set to defend his title at TPC Toronto.<\/p>\n

MacIntyre Has Positive Mindset Amidst 2025 Challenges<\/h2>\n

MacIntyre has acknowledged the challenges he’s faced this year. The Scotsman, who is currently ranked 20th in the Official World Golf Ranking<\/a>, has shown signs of improvement with a tie for sixth at the Charles Schwab Challenge<\/a> and a tie for 20th at The Memorial<\/a>. These results indicate that his game is heading in the right direction as he prepares for the upcoming tournament, and the 28-year-old is full of confidence.<\/p>\n

“Look, life’s been good,” he said.<\/a> “Last year I struggled a little bit with the adjustments of life on the PGA Tour, but this year it’s been more — almost more golf, it’s just golf-related, to be honest with you. Tee to green, I’ve been really good. Chipping has not been the best. Not that I’ve got a problem, it’s just I’m chipping on grainy greens that I’m not used to. I’m used to bentgrass.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old also stated that the last two weeks has been positive for him and that he his bringing to see a light at the end of the tunnel although it hadn’t been smooth sailing for him in 2025. \u201cIt’s been a little bit of trying to fix certain things. But now I feel like we’re on the right path and the game’s starting to kind of merge together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Positive Mindset To Power MacIntyre’s Title Defense<\/h2>\n

As MacIntyre prepares to defend his title, the 28-year-old is focused on maintaining a positive mindset. The Scotsman’s recent performances suggest that he’s well-positioned for another strong showing at the RBC Canadian Open<\/a>. He hopes he can follow up last year’s victory by successfully defending his title.<\/p>\n

Despite earlier struggles with adapting to grainy greens unfamiliar to him, MacIntyre remains optimistic ahead of his title defense. The 28-year-old attempted to invoke positive memories of his maiden PGA Tour win by visiting Hamilton Golf & Country Club in Ontario with his father, who caddied for him during last year’s victory.<\/p>\n

“I went and played Hamilton yesterday with my dad with two of the members at Hamilton,” he said. “We had a nice day yesterday to try and kind of relive the memories and enjoy what we achieved, to be honest with you. It was something special that I probably will never do again in my life. Obviously I had my dad on the bag. But we went there and just hung out for four or five hours and just enjoyed everyone’s company.\u201d<\/p>\n
