This has been a tough year for Tiger Woods.\u00a0 His mother passed away, and he had to withdraw from several events to deal with the grief<\/a>.\u00a0 He then ruptured his Achilles tendon ahead of the Masters and had to withdraw to correct that issue with surgery<\/a>.\u00a0 Currently, Woods is still dealing with the long-term effects of that surgery and will not be attending the US Open as a player.\u00a0 This has led fans to wonder what the future holds for the former champion of all four majors?<\/span><\/p>\n

Tiger Woods Legacy<\/span><\/h2>\n

It is hard to find someone who hasn\u2019t heard of Tiger Woods.\u00a0 Even people who have been living under rocks for the past forty years know who he is.\u00a0 He was the face of the PGA in the early 2000s, and remains so to this day.\u00a0 Woods has had two five-year runs of being the No. 1 golfer in the world<\/a>.\u00a0 The closest that anyone has come to that is Scottie Scheffler, who currently sits at 104 weeks, or just two years.\u00a0 Woods’ impact on golf is so notable that he broke every record at the time.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Woods Today<\/span><\/h2>\n

Despite all his accomplishments, Woods is now having a number of issues.\u00a0 He has been called the most underachieving golfer<\/a>.\u00a0 The issues mentioned earlier have led him to miss most of this season.\u00a0 He\u2019s not even in the top 100 anymore.\u00a0 His most noticeable acts this year are aiding with the Los Angeles Wildfire recovery<\/a> and meeting with Donald Trump during one of the PGA-LIV Golf Merger talks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Is It Time For The Senior Leagues?<\/span><\/h2>\n

There have been plenty of talks about retirement for golfers just this year alone.\u00a0 Rory McIlroy has said that he doesn\u2019t plan on going past 50, and Woods is going to hit that number at the end of the year.\u00a0 Another golfer has debated on whether or not to attend the Masters this year because of his age.\u00a0 It\u2019s getting to the point where, to get into future events, he will need to cash in his special exemptions.\u00a0 Last year’s US Open, Woods needed to use one of those exemptions after missing the cut.\u00a0 If this year is anything to go by, he may rely on those exemptions for as long as he plays in the main Tour.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Now For Woods?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Tiger Woods has had a career that has defined golf in the 21st century.\u00a0 He broke records, became the face of the sport, and is known around the world in every household.\u00a0 Today, however, it seems that it may be time for him to pack it in.\u00a0 He had a really good run, and now newer golfers are chomping at the bit to claim his crown.\u00a0 As for his name legacy, Charlie Woods is working his way up<\/a>.\u00a0 He has brought a couple of surprises in the past with a brief comeback, but fans aren\u2019t holding out hope for that.\u00a0 It looks like it is time to rest on his laurels and accept his accomplishments as they are, and take the time to enjoy the rest of his life.<\/span><\/p>\n
