{"id":434256,"date":"2025-04-22T00:24:08","date_gmt":"2025-04-22T04:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/?p=434256"},"modified":"2025-04-23T16:40:30","modified_gmt":"2025-04-23T16:40:30","slug":"brian-harman-says-he-prefers-playing-fast-during-rbc-heritage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/golf\/brian-harman-says-he-prefers-playing-fast-during-rbc-heritage\/","title":{"rendered":"Brian Harman Says He Prefers Playing Fast During RBC Heritage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2025 has been quite a year for pace of play solutions.\u00a0 Earlier this year, the PGA announced that they would<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/2025\/02\/01\/pga-slow-play-crackdown\/\" target=\"_self\"> commit more to cracking down on it<\/a>, and at the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/2025\/04\/18\/pace-of-play-being-addressed-at-rbc-heritage\/\" target=\"_self\">RBC Heritage, players were given range finders to improve times<\/a>.\u00a0 Yet pace of play is still a bit of an issue.\u00a0 During the Masters, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/2025\/04\/13\/rory-mcilroy-distracted-at-masters-from-players-slow-play\/\" target=\"_self\">Akshay Bhatia took a full three minutes to hit his ball<\/a>.\u00a0 Scottie Scheffler criticized the need for slow-play solutions as he cited the course sizes as the biggest issue.\u00a0 There are, however, some common names that come up when discussing the pace of play.\u00a0 Brian Harman is one such example.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brian Harman Playing Slow<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Harman has long been criticized for being a slow player.\u00a0 Even the former world&#8217;s greatest caddie, Billy Foster, has called Harman the slowest player on Tour.\u00a0 However, when asked in an<a  href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_vjXAXLNL58\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> interview during the RBC Heritage<\/a> if he preferred playing fast or taking his time, Harman said he liked playing fast, a statement that some find odd.\u00a0 He even said that he always preferred playing at a faster pace since he was a child, just getting into the sport.\u00a0 He stated that he feels that speed comes more into play during twosomes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIn a twosome, if you are a slow player, you can\u2019t really hide. I would bet you everyone in a twosome plays faster than they do in a threesome anyway.\u00a0 It certainly helps [playing quicker] to get in a rhythm. If you\u2019re standing around watching the group in front of you all day, it\u2019s hard to \u2014 you have to find things to occupy your mind.
