Obviously there\u2019s been a lot of change and hires of people within LIV and now having Scott. I think Scott\u2019s a great guy and he can lead LIV to where it needs to be and where I think it should be.\u00a0 Because we are behind. To be quite fair. Behind where we should be. From bringing sponsors in to hitting the international market and the US market&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>This relates to multiple issues with LIV that have been covered multiple times before.\u00a0 Koepka brings up LIV Golf&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/2025\/03\/20\/brandel-chamblee-liv-golf-viewership\/\" target=\"_self\">struggles with viewership numbers<\/a>, it usually gets over a hundred thousand views.\u00a0 Meanwhile, PGA Tour events regularly get millions of views.\u00a0 Sponsors have been reluctant to <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/2025\/02\/11\/speculation-arises-after-dustin-johnson-and-taylormade-split\/\" target=\"_self\">support LIV Golf and its golfers; Dustin Johnson discovered this first-hand<\/a> when he first joined.\u00a0 All this is on top of <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/2025\/02\/19\/liv-golf-financial-report\/\" target=\"_self\">LIV struggling to make a profit<\/a>; operating costs alone already exceed its revenue.\u00a0 The initial sign-on deals cost the league hundreds of millions per golfer.\u00a0 Last but not least was the PGA\u2019s suspension on any player who played with LIV within a year of them trying for a PGA event.\u00a0 All this mixed together has hampered LIV\u2019s attempts at growth.\u00a0 The league is only still standing because the expenses are just pocket change to an organization like the PIF.<\/p>\n<h2>Fan Reaction<\/h2>\n<p>Fans are pretty down on LIV Golf in general.\u00a0 With it being owned by the PIF, its presence has always been controversial.\u00a0 However, now fans are looking at its lack of growth in terms of viewership and just personal engagement with it and wondering how it is sticking around.\u00a0 The sentiment is pretty in line with Koepka&#8217;s thinking in <a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NUCLRGOLF\/status\/1904685696935211324?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1904685696935211324%7Ctwgr%5Effd714a3bafe7092830293fc8197b0fa10d77fc4%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sportskeeda.com%2Fgolf%2Fnews-tgl-better-fans-react-brooks-koepka-s-big-statement-downplaying-liv-golf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the replies to the interview<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a dead fish\u20264 years in and no way up,\u201d\u00a0 one fan wrote.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was over before it started a big money grab. The PGA Tour is thriving no matter what people say,&#8221; another fan said<\/p>\n<p>Some fans are still in the wait-and-see phase, trying to determine what they think of the league.\u00a0&#8220;They are not 4 years in. They are 3 years and some change. I think they\u2019re ahead of what most people thought.
