England’s performance and subsequent World Cup elimination brought with it a lot of spotlight on the players involved, with Rogers himself coming in for criticism when one viewer labelled<\/a> him as the “most overrated player” they have ever watched. In 125 appearances for Aston Villa, the 22-year-old has contributed 31 goals and 29 assists. While not huge quantities, Rogers has shown an ability to create goals for himself or his teammates at every level, whether it was for Middlesbrough,\u00a0 Manchester City U21, or West Brom U18, he has been a consistent creator. Whether this scales up to Xabi Alonso’s system at Chelsea where he will see more of the ball remains to be seen but that will be the hope within the club as he offers a partner for Cole Palmer in the attacking areas.<\/p>\n
