While <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2026\/07\/05\/norway-announces-itself-as-world-cup-contenders-with-2-1-win-against-brazil\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Norway have a true<\/a> golden generation that believes they can win the World Cup, England <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2026\/07\/05\/england-survives-at-estadio-azteca-with-3-2-world-cup-win-over-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">continues to insist<\/a> &#8220;it&#8217;s coming home&#8221; we offer our preview and predictions for this Saturday battle, Norway vs England.<\/p>\n<h2>Norway vs England (Saturday, July 11th in Miami)<\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"max-width: 1280px\"><smartframe-embed class=\"smartframe_wp_element\" customer-id=\"b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf\" image-id=\"WmOBwYufaSrV\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 2639px; aspect-ratio: 2639\/1759;\" ><\/smartframe-embed><\/p>\n<p>Steen Kirby: England&#8217;s brave performance to <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2026\/07\/05\/england-survives-at-estadio-azteca-with-3-2-world-cup-win-over-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">defend against Mexico<\/a> at the Estadio Azteca with 10 men will go down as a win for the ages. With the world watching, Thomas Tuchel&#8217;s Three Lions recorded one of the great England wins in an international tournament. The emotional high of that win, in the light of day, still shows that England have a tough task ahead against a Norway side that are taking advantage of their golden generation.<\/p>\n<p>Erling Haaland and Harry Kane are among the players chasing Lionel Messi for the Golden Boot. With Haaland, Norway always have confidence they can find a goal, he knows how to position himself perfectly to end up on the scoresheet. Norway also deserve credit for limiting Brazil offensively, Julian Ryerson put in a great shift, and <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/OptaAnalyst\/status\/2073875694380097944\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sander Berge and Patrick Berg<\/a> looked like elite midfielders. <a href=\"https:\/\/extratimetalk.com\/norway-world-cup-quarter-final-rise-not-haaland\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Norway<\/a> have not always been defensively solid, but they know how to score, and a clean sheet feels unlikely for Jordan Pickford and England. The pressure will be on Djed Spence as he&#8217;s set to return at RB.<\/p>\n<p>England will continue to build offensively through Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon, and captain Kane. Norway has offensive talent off the bench too including Andreas Schjelderup. Look for a relatively high scoring game, but England getting a late winner wouldn&#8217;t shock me, they tend to play better against sides that don&#8217;t park the bus the way Ghana and Panama did.<\/p>\n<p>Prediction: <strong>England<\/strong> 3-2<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"430\" height=\"335\" style=\"border: 0; overflow: hidden; border-radius: 0; display: block;\" src=\"https:\/\/live-odds.casinokings.com\/embed\/30226981\" scrolling=\"no\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/>\n<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Barry Dixon: A semifinal place is up for grabs as the Three Lions battle the Vikings, with the winners facing either Argentina or Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p>England will go into this game in deeper trouble at right-back than against Mexico. Jarrell Quansah, who saw red in that game, having replaced the injured Reece James, will now miss this game and the semifinal should the Three Lions be victorious. To many fans, the suspension, despite being part of FIFA\u2019s rules, is a little harsh considering other decisions made by those in charge during the tournament so far.<\/p>\n<p>Their epic 3-2 victory over co-hosts Mexico may have taken a lot out of the team both physically and emotionally; however, the prize at stake should put all of that to the back of their minds.<\/p>\n<p>In Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham, England have a chance against anyone and that alone should make them favourites for this game. Norway, though, have a player well known to the English in Manchester City\u2019s lethal striker Erling Haaland, and if not watched very carefully, he could destroy England\u2019s dream of finally getting their hands on the World Cup trophy for the first time in 60 years.<\/p>\n<p>Arsenal\u2019s Martin \u00d8degaard could also prove to be a key player, as could winger Antonio Nusa, who is likely to go up against the player Thomas Tuchel decides to play at right back.
