Domino Effect Could Lead to the Sale of \u00a315 million Leicester City Midfielder<\/h2>\n

The ongoing chase for Hayden Hackney could play a part in Leicester’s fire sale, as Middlesbrough show interest. John Percy reported<\/a> that Everton<\/span> are moving closer to signing Hayden Hackney in a \u00a325m deal. In addition to this, Boro held talks with Leicester over signing Oliver Skipp; however, there is one hurdle. The \u00a315m price tag set by the Foxes deterred Middlesbrough.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leicester City midfielder Skipp initially joined in the summer of 2024 on a five-year deal and for a fee<\/a> in excess of \u00a320m. It was quite a controversial piece of business, especially as months earlier, Leicester had sold Kiernan Dewsbury Hall for a sum in that region. His first season in the Premier League left a lot to be desired, with Boubakary Soumare, Harry Winks, and Wilfred Ndidi all registering more minutes. Last season was better, but still not the heights of a \u00a320m player.<\/p>\n

In terms of a move away,\u00a0Skipp is keen to leave Leicester and restart his career. The issue is the transfer fee, which is forcing Boro to look elsewhere. It seems Leicester are trying to recoup as much of the initial fee as possible, but demanding \u00a315m in League One may be a step too far.<\/p>\n

How Does This Affect Leicester?<\/h3>\n

Selling Skipp makes sense, especially as the club and the player are keen for the move. However, it seems fairly unlikely that they will get anywhere with such a high valuation. Perhaps the number will go down over the coming weeks, though it depends on which other Leicester players move on. Percy stated that there is already pressure to sell players and fund their own signings. New boss Russell Martin will be keen to bring in his own players and those suited to his system.<\/p>\n

Outside of Skipp, Percy also said that the Foxes will accept offers for several players. Abdul Fatawu, Ben Nelson, Stephy Mavididi, Luke Thomas, Harry Winks and Caleb Okoli were all on the list. Meanwhile, Jeremy Monga has been embroiled in a race of his own with Arsenal looking close<\/a> to signing him. Clubs all across the country are trying to take advantage of this Leicester mess. All this interest certainly heightens the pressure on the hierarchy, as they need to deliver after years of failure.<\/div>\n
