Heading into their second game of the World Cup, Netherlands face no fresh injury concerns. Despite picking up an injury in a warm-up friendly against Uzbekistan, Bart Verbruggen was able to start. Meanwhile, former Brighton teammate, now Spurs defender, Jan Paul Van Hecke was just in front of him partnering Van Dijk.<\/p>\n

Memphis Depay has had his own problems leading up to the tournament; he started on the bench due to only recently returning from a thigh injury. Whilst he did eventually replace Donyell Malen, he couldn’t affect the game due to the circumstances. Ronald Koeman opted for a more defensive approach in order to hold their lead; of course, this didn’t work out in the end.<\/span><\/p>\n

Several others also came on but again had limited impact. Quinten Timber, brother of Jurrien, joined Teun Koopmeiners and Depay in coming on at the 70th minute mark. Furthermore, Nathan Ake and Sunderland’s Brian Brobbey also made their way onto the pitch, though they were given less than 10 minutes of normal time.<\/p>\n
