Tottenham Hotspur youngster Luka Vu\u0161kovi\u0107 is the subject of a reported \u00a330 million bid from Brighton & Hove Albion, according to David Ornstein<\/a>. The centre-back reportedly prefers the project offered by the Seagulls in favor of guaranteed game time<\/p>\n

The Croatian defender is yet to make a competitive appearance for Spurs, but his outstanding loan spell with Bundesliga side Hamburger SV has attracted significant interest ahead of the 2026\/27 season.<\/p>\n

The reported Brighton bid is particularly intriguing given Tottenham’s interest in Albion defender Jan Paul van Hecke, with Spurs having seen multiple offers rejected in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

Vu\u0161kovi\u0107 agreed to join the Lilywhites from Croatian side Hajduk Split in 2023, with the transfer officially completed in the summer of 2025. Deemed by Ornstein as one of the “most coveted” in his position, the player is attracting interest.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old impressed during his first pre-season with the club, registering a goal and an assist in a 2-0 victory over Reading before being included in the matchday squad for the UEFA Super Cup and Tottenham’s opening two Premier League fixtures.<\/p>\n

He was then sent on loan to Hamburger SV for the 2025\/26 season to gain regular first-team football. Vu\u0161kovi\u0107 enjoyed an outstanding campaign in the Bundesliga, making 28 league appearances and scoring six goals while playing alongside his older brother, Mario.<\/p>\n

His performances earned him a place in the Bundesliga Team of the Season<\/a>, while he was also named Bundesliga Rookie of the Month for both September and October.<\/p>\n

The Croatian finished the campaign with the highest duel success rate in the Bundesliga at 69.1%. He also became the first player to win 18 aerial duels in a match across Europe’s major leagues in five years during Hamburger SV’s meeting with Union Berlin.<\/p>\n

International Recognition<\/h3>\n

After progressing through Croatia’s youth sides, Vu\u0161kovi\u0107 has continued his development on the international stage, already earning five senior caps.<\/p>\n

He made his debut against the Czech Republic in June 2025 before scoring his first international goal against Colombia in March 2026.<\/p>\n

The teenager has also been called up for Croatia’s squad for this summer’s FIFA World Cup. Drawn in Group L alongside England, Ghana and Panama, the tournament offers Vu\u0161kovi\u0107 a big opportunity to showcase his talent on the biggest stage.<\/p>\n
