Liverpool\u2019s season has been nothing short of a rollercoaster. They won the 2024\/25 season by ten points, and confidence was high that they could repeat their success in the 2025\/26 season. In recent times, they have still been throwing away points, but things have improved. They sit in sixth place, on the same points as fifth-place Chelsea. They also have a last-16 Champions League tie against Galatasaray to come. They are also in the hat for the FA Cup quarter-final draw after defeating Wolves 3-1 on March 6. Robertson has enjoyed a brilliant spell at Liverpool since joining them in 2017, including two Premier League titles and a Champions League winners’ medal.<\/p>\n

His contract is due to expire this summer, and Liverpool initially accepted a \u00a35m bid for the Scottish captain from Tottenham Hotspur in January. However, this acceptance was quickly rescinded due to injuries at Anfield.<\/p>\n

Robertson has had to play second fiddle to Milos Kerkez for parts of this season, but he has never spoken out negatively against Arne Slot or vented his frustrations in a public setting. The Scot showed his class in the March 6 FA Cup win over Wolves, scoring and assisting in the game.<\/p>\n

Discussing his future, Robertson said: \u201cThere was obviously interest there (from Tottenham) and there were discussions had with both sets of clubs, but the decision was that I wanted to stay,\u201d said the 32-year-old.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was never not committed. I\u2019ve been committed to Liverpool for the last eight and a half or nine years now and I\u2019ll be committed until I\u2019m no longer needed. That\u2019s always been my mindset.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis club has given me everything and I\u2019ve given this club everything. It\u2019s been a fantastic relationship so hopefully that continues. Obviously January happened but it is now gone.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow we move forward and my focus never came off trying to help the lads on the pitch and in training.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhatever was happening behind the scenes happened, and all I can say is that I kept focusing on football.\u201d<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve got an amazing relationship with Richard Hughes (sporting director) and with Mike Gordon (president of owners Fenway Sports Group) and Michael Edwards (FSG\u2019s chief executive of football),\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese people (Gordon and Edwards) brought me to the football club, they have helped make me who I am.<\/p>\n

\u201cOut of respect to them the conversations will be in-house. I don\u2019t think it will get played out in public.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy thought process is I want to win trophies at Liverpool, that has always been my focus.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not gone the way that we wanted in the league \u2013 that is clear \u2013 and we\u2019re out of the Carabao Cup so we have got two chances.<\/p>\n
