Manchester United and youth prospects go hand in hand. From the Class of \u201992 to the record of having a homegrown player in the match-day squad since 1937, United have always produced young talent. The latest player to significantly catch the eye of United fans is 18-year-old Shea Lacey. The left-footed winger has already represented England at youth level and has recently featured off the bench for the first team.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s certainly on the right trajectory.<\/p>\n The Liverpool-born youngster is known for his ability from set pieces, particularly his free-kick ability, but he isn\u2019t a one-trick pony, as his stats show.<\/p>\n The prospect made his first-team debut off the bench in December against Aston Villa. He would feature again off the bench against Burnley under Darren Fletcher. On that occasion, he rattled the bar with a curling effort, showing a glimpse of what his game is. Lacey made his FA Cup debut against Brighton, however, was sent off for a second bookable offence in an appearance to forget.<\/p>\n Under Michael Carrick, Lacey has only featured once on the bench. Don\u2019t let this fool you into thinking he isn\u2019t highly regarded around the Carrington Training ground by Carrick and his staff.<\/p>\n For United\u2019s Under 21s, he\u2019s been on fire this season. Since the turn of the year, Lacey has scored six goals, including a hat-trick against West Brom at the beginning of the month. Capped from under-15s, the United man has scored at every level he\u2019s featured. The Englishman made his debut for the under-20s in a 1-0 loss to Switzerland.
