A key component of their excellent form, which has helped them to third in the Premier League, has been Matty Cash. The Athletic<\/span><\/a> are reporting that Cash will now miss the next two games for Villa due to a knee injury.<\/p>\n

Villa\u2019s season has been highly impressive so far, but the acid test is how they perform in the back end of this season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In their last five Premier League games, they have suffered two defeats, and it\u2019s vital Unai Emery\u2019s men don\u2019t fall away and miss out on Champions League qualification for next season.<\/p>\n

They are still in the FA Cup and will face Newcastle in the fourth round. A deep run in the cup would be great for The Holte End faithful.<\/p>\n

Matty Cash Suffers Knee Injury<\/h3>\n

The Athletic reports that Matty Cash will miss Villa\u2019s next two games with a knee injury. The scan showed inflammation around the knee, but no serious damage, which will be a huge boost to Emery.<\/p>\n

The right-back, described previously by his manager as \u201cVery Important<\/span><\/a>,\u201d will miss his team\u2019s game against Brighton & Hove Albion on February 11 and the club\u2019s FA Cup clash against Newcastle United on February 14.<\/p>\n

Emery appears to be short of cover at right-back, so it\u2019s expected that midfielder Lamare Bogarde will play at right-back until Cash returns. Bogarde\u2019s last appearance at right back was a tough one, with Villa losing 4-1 away to Arsenal.<\/p>\n

Villa will be eager to get Cash back in the team. He has made 32 appearances this season, in all competitions. He has scored three goals and contributed four assists for his team.<\/p>\n
