Oxford United<\/a> continue to strengthen in the January transfer window with the arrival of South Korean winger, Jeon Jin-woo.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old, who was spotted in the director’s box during Matt Bloomfield’s first game in charge against Bristol City, has joined the U’s on a permanent basis.<\/p>\n

Jeon Jin-woo Joins the U’s<\/h3>\n

The winger had a prolific K League 1 campaign, scoring 13 and adding two assists from 30 appearances, as Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors won their tenth league title. He also scored three from four in the AFC Cup, which they also won.<\/p>\n

Since joining Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in 2024, Jin-woo has turned out 59 times and added 30 goal contributions. Capped twice by South Korea, the winger was also of interest to Belgium side Genk and Championship rivals West Brom.<\/p>\n

What Was Said<\/h3>\n

Speaking after completing his move<\/a>, Jin Woo said: \u201cI\u2019m incredibly happy to be here. Playing in England has always been a dream of mine, and to achieve that with a club like Oxford United is very special.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Oxford United showed interest, I studied the club carefully. I felt a real connection straight away and believed I could make a difference here, so the decision was easy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to be a player who brings energy, intensity, and excitement. I enjoy taking defenders on, playing aggressively, and creating problems for the opposition. Above all, I want the fans to enjoy watching me play.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know this club has a proud history and passionate supporters. I will work hard every day to repay the trust put in me and help push the team forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Head Coach Matt Bloomfield added: \u201cJin Woo is a player we are absolutely thrilled to bring to Oxford United. He has real quality at the top end of the pitch and the ability to decide games.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis speed, directness, and mentality stood out immediately, and we believe he can have a significant impact both this season and in the long term. He gives us something different, and we\u2019re excited to start working with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cJin Woo\u2019s season ended in early December, so he may need some time to adapt, which we hope can happen quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n
