Friday saw lots of transfer rumours and activity for Oxford United<\/a> with the U’s seeing one midfielder leave on loan before the arrival of another.<\/p>\n

The U’s were linked with three players on the day, one of which did come through the door, after Louie Sibley made a switch to League One side, Bradford.<\/p>\n

Transfer Rumours, New Arrival and One Departure for Oxford United as January Transfer Window Kicks Off<\/h2>\n

Former Swans Midfielder to Link Up With Alan Sheehan?<\/h3>\n

Oxford are still looking to appoint a new manager and one name heavily linked is former Swansea boss, Alan Sheehan.<\/p>\n

That rumour grew more when Pete O’Rourke<\/a> claimed that Oxford were “in talks” to sign Brentford midfielder Myles Peart-Harris on loan.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old worked under Sheehan while on loan with the Welsh club last season and he had seven goal involvements from 30 appearances.<\/p>\n

Brighton Midfielder Linked<\/h3>\n

The next to be linked was Brighton Midfielder, Andy Moran. Darren Witcoop<\/a> claimed that Oxford and Portsmouth “want to sign” the 22-year-old, who is currently on loan at Los Angeles FC.<\/p>\n

The Republic of Ireland international has spent time on loan at Blackburn and Stoke before a switch to the MLS in August.<\/p>\n

Oxford United Midfielder Louie Sibley Joins Bradford<\/h3>\n

There was then a first departure of the window when Louie Sibley joined League One promotion hopefuls, Bradford.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old, who joined the U’s last summer, has struggled for game time at Grenoble Road and spent the second half of last season on loan at Rotherham.<\/p>\n

A move is good for both parties, with Sibley gaining some important minutes and the Bantams strengthening their squad for their promotion push.<\/p>\n

Spurs Youngster Arrives<\/h3>\n

Telegraph reporter Jason Burt<\/a> then claimed that Oxford would sign highly-rated Tottenham youngster, Jamie Donley.<\/p>\n

Shortly after, the U’s announced<\/a> their first arrival of the window with the 20-year-old joining on loan but the U’s have an option to buy in the summer.<\/p>\n

The midfielder hit eight goals and ten assists while on loan at Leyton Orient last season as the O’s reached the playoff final, before joining Stoke in the summer, although game time has been limited.<\/p>\n
