West Ham have endured a difficult start to the 2025\/26 season, with Graham Potter in charge at the beginning of the season, before he was replaced by Nuno Esp\u00edrito Santo<\/a>. West Ham are four points adrift of safety at the end of 2025, and are in need of reinforcements to help the club survive in the Premier League. The need for reinforcements has been recognised by Nuno Esp\u00edrito Santo, who has used some of the club\u2019s best youngsters in recent weeks, including in the 2-2 draw against Brighton, where he started with Oliver Scarles and Freddie Potts, and used 18-year-old Ezra Mayers and Mohamadou Kante, 20, as substitutes.<\/p>\n

Nuno Discusses West Ham’s January Plans<\/h3>\n

Nuno has been happy with the younger players’ performances, but he has made it clear that the squad needs to be strengthened:<\/p>\n

\u201cI am pleased for the young players, because they\u2019re helping,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s also clear that, in terms of squad, we need to rebalance our squad. We need to make the right moves in a very difficult transfer window to operate.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we need to, so we can improve and have more options for the second half of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a clear idea about everything. I have a clear idea, because this is our job. It\u2019s up to us to pass information to the club, so the club is aware of what we need.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s coming in a couple of days. The reflection is clear, so the sooner the better,\u201d said Nuno.<\/p>\n
