Three Memorable Oxford United Wins Against Charlton at The Valley<\/h2>\n

1-2 – January 1, 2024<\/h3>\n

The most recent victory came on New Year’s Day in 2024 when the sides met in League One.<\/p>\n

The Addicks, who were managed by former U’s head coach Michael Appleton, took an early lead against promotion-chasing Oxford but Mark Harris levelled the game on 22 minutes.<\/p>\n

Both sides pushed for a winner but it came from fringe player, Oisin Smyth, who bent one in the top corner from over 25 yards just two minutes before full time.<\/p>\n

0-4 – February 19, 2022<\/h3>\n

A brace from Matty Taylor helped Oxford on their way to a memorable victory at the Valley in 2022.<\/p>\n

Taylor opened the scoring just after 20 minutes and added his second just before the half-hour mark.<\/p>\n

Sam Baldock then opened his account after the break before former U’s player Sean Clare was dismissed for the hosts.<\/p>\n

Midfielder Cameron Brannagan added a fourth with a sensational strike late on to secure a historic victory on the road.<\/p>\n

2-3 – February 3, 2018<\/h3>\n

Two late goals rescued a spectacular victory when the two sides met in 2018.<\/p>\n

Charlton, who were managed by former Oxford boss, Karl Robinson prior to his move to the U’s, took the lead twice at the Valley but Todd Kane levelled just before injury time before Ryan Ledson slotted home an impressive winner to send the Yellow Army into raptures.<\/p>\n
